As Prez pointed, Neko = Cat. They like to use animal names for the schools in Haikyuu! Karasuno (Karasu = Crow) Nekoma (Neko = Cat) Shiratorizawa (Tori = Bird, Shiratori = Swan, but Idk why in ep 1 they represented Ushijima as a white eagle. Maybe the school doesn't represent swans, but white birds in general, as "Shira" can be used to represent "White" the same way as "Shiro", making Shiratori = white birds? I'm not sure, my knowledge about japanese is really small 😂).
