I think a better translation than "We got to play volleyball" should have been "We played it too... volleyball."

Competitive volleyball is best of 5. If it drags to the 5th set, it'll be played to a max of 15 points. These are preliminary games in high school, so probably why they go by best of 3. and the feeling of sitting out while the team potentially loses your last ever match in high school - coach Ukai probably felt that, since he mentioned briefly how he was a setter in third yr but the younger setter was picked instead of him.

I should have preferenced high school matches

π―! The younger players are so lucky to have Dad-chi, Suga-mama, and Weird Uncle Asahi (π«£) to show them how to be team!
Cara&Prez
Ah okay just to be clear we usually watch international/olympic which are best of 5 hence why I was surprised by the best of 3 hereπ
Cara&Prez
That discussion was painful ππ

It's best of 3 in volley ball. You are thinking of tennis where the men do a best of 5 and the women do a best of 3. There could be a best of 5 in some instances though in volleyball, but usually it is a best of 3, and the same for the women

π€ Prez totally made Cara doubt the words coming out of her mouth on the "best 2 out of 3" vs "best 3 out of 5" 10:26 - Cara says "best of 3" 10:31 - Prez says "first to 3"

Suga-mom .Yes he wasn't to be on the court. More then anything. But he knows that's not best for the team.Instead he humbles himself and bow's his head to the 1st years. To help Asahi, because he can't do it himself. His friend and team more important then his pride. I love the 3 rd year so much.

This ep is a fan favorite. Winner and losers. Losers so often overlooked. Just another team that playing a sport they love. Putting in the work. Just not there day.
