Also, one thing I love about this series is just how god damn well it pulls back the curtain and shows the desperation and the craving for attention, validation, and a sense of a "place" where you belong for so many characters. And what happens to them, how they feel, and how they struggle when validation and attention disappear or are forcibly taken from them.
