I am sad they changed Faramir in the films because in books he understood Frodo immediately and helped

Little fact, the winged creature that the nazgul is riding is actually called a fellbeast

So in Tolkien's writing there are 3 levels of supernatural beings. The creator God, Illuvator, the lower gods known as the Valar, of which there were 14, and the lesser gods or spirits known as the Maiar. Sauron and Gandalf were both Maiar as where the other wizards including Saruman. Gandalf was said to be the wisest of the Maiar while living with the Valar and the creator God and he was closest to the Maiar who developed gardening and to the Valar who became the "god" of mercy...hence his willingness to forgive and to let things play out rather than force things to happen - such as letting Gollum live though he knew Gollum was evil.

Sam is my favorite character as well. I believe that Tolkien even said that Sam is the actual chief hero of LOTR.

From the little i know about lotr Gandalf is some sort of messiah He cannot show his true power in front of mortals. So he soloed it and took all the loot for himself. He is a smurfing asshoel

I love that each faction has their own music. The elven themed music is very different from the theme of Rohan and from the music of the Shire. One of my favorites though, is Gollum's Song which was sung during the end credits of this movie. If you are interested, there are several orchestra performances online, including this one: https://youtu.be/ZT-wmtmeuQI?feature=shared

To be fair, when you said this movie is better than the first one, keep in mind you watched the extended version of this one but not of the first one. That's 30 minutes of scenes that you missed. People are not over exaggerating when they say that the extended versions are the only way to watch LOTR. There are a lot of important details in the first movie that round out the story but sadly had to get cut from the theatrical release because it would have been too long otherwise. Just something to think about when comparing the first to the second movie :P Please don't read this as blame though, obviously you didn't know. Just as an example though, if you hadn't watched the extended version of this movie you would have missed: - Theodred getting picked up from the battlefield - Theodreds funeral - Aragorn calming Brego in the stables - Wormtongue telling Saruman about the Ring that Aragorn wears(the ring of the heir of Isildur) - Eowyn talking to Aragorn about how old he is and that he is from the lost lineage of the Dunedain - Faramirs flashback of Boromir talking to his father about the quest to Rivendell ...just imagine you wouldn't have seen any of that and this is just listing the most important scenes out of the total of 44 extra minutes. I must sound like a "Extended Cut Salesman" at this point but these are such important scenes that tell you so much about the story and the characters, it's wild to think about how much you actually don't know, when watching the theatrical cut.

Thanks for doing the extended version. Cutting it half and watching two hours at a time might help. Loving the LotR reactions soooooo much! These have so many jump scares for poor Cara though lol but it's so fun to watch.

Got it. Anyway if it won't be requested enough i'll still recommend watching it on your own. You'll have a nice time )

Our current plan is to finish the trilogy next month then see if we should make movies a monthly thing, they take really long to edit but if you guys want them we'll try and make it happen!

EHHH those movies have their moments but they stretch a story that should have been told in a single movie and you can feel it. The OG trilogy vastly superior.

God I forgot how many memes came out of this movie lol

So glad you enjoyed it; was a blast to watch it with you. The extended edition really helps with understanding the characters personalities. Let's hope for Return of the King xx

Beautifully done!!

You should check out The Hobbit trilogy after you done with this one( extended cuts, ofc). It is a prequel trilogy about Bilbo, how he found the ring, how he knew Gollum and many other cool things. You 2 will definitely like it ( it has newer graphics as well, was done in 2010s)
