4:28 that's actually a pretty good question. I for what I understood I think it's because is Goddess Magic that doesn't get "resolved" yet by human's magic. I guess something like Easter medicine and Western medicine. EDIT: at the end that's the "preview for next ep". Most animes as you already know give some shots for the next ep, but frieren put overlapping audios and the title for next ep always at the end.

Gotta remember, Sein isn't looking for a sexy OLD lady, just a sexy oldER lady. I guess an example would be someone like Lulu from Final Fantasy, as she fits the type. A sexy lady who is not a teenager but also not an old woman.

Favorite part of the dance gotta be when fern looks at stark in (almost?) confusion and then when they spin it shows her smiling at him! It’s so subtle but impactful

The fern and stark dance scene was 1 small panel in the manga. They made a FULL dance animation for them in this episode, adding the looks they gave each other and stuff all by themselves... the studio rly loves them

With the ending, they just did the classic thing of playing the credits over the final scene rather than give us the usual “Are you alright?”ending. That last thing you saw is the “preview” for the next episode. We get them at the end of each episode, but like you, I usually avoid them, so you probably didn’t notice until now
