Re Zero OVA?
🕑 Added 2024-05-09 10:16:08 +0000 UTCQuick question for our Re Zero audience, is the re zero ova "Frozen Bonds" something to watch before S2? We've heard there's 2 different ova's and one of them is good to watch before starting s2, is that the Frozen Bonds one?

Yall are gonna love season 2, the first half is personally for me the over all most consistent best in the series. Theres like a 9 episode stretch where it just does not stop

Frozen Bonds is some Emilia backstory and semi important to Season 2, The other one is extra ep that took place after the Rem episode and before they went to the capital and subaru made a fool of himself.

Both ova’s take place before season 2. Memory snow has bits of foreshadowing for season 2 and frozen bond is a backstory that provides information for season 2.

Memory snow is optional but its still rly good and prolly a fun reaction. Im ok with no reactions and straight to reacting to s2 though

if you have time, watch both, if you want to get to S2 quicker then at least watch Frozen Bonds as it gives a lot of important info about Emilia which is important for season 2 as that's where her character gets a lot of growth

To be more specific, ova 1 (Memory snow) takes place between episodes 11 and 12 of season 1, and ova 2 (The frozen bond) can be considered a little teaser to what's going to happen in season 2.. So you can watch both between the seasons, but definitely the frozen bond 😉 Without saying too much: I'd say ova 1 adds an extra layer to how things seemed to have changed a lot in a short period of time around those episodes in season 1. And ova 2 certainly adds anticipation and mystery to season 2, plus it helps to answer a question or two along the way. It's not taking place between the seasons though, but it is definitely recommend to watch before season 2.

the 2 OVAs are memory snow and frozen bond, and you would watch them in that order. they are both canon to the story and both have important information but frozen bonds is more important to the story than memory snow. memory snow is more like a “slice of life” episode that takes place in-between the month when they fought the dogs in the forest and when they left for the capital and there is some exposition about terms that will be mentioned in a minor way later. frozen bonds gives more insight on Emilia and is definitely more important than memory snow. I’d personally love to see a reaction to both but you could get away with just watching frozen bonds if you want.

Frozen Bond is the one that is important before s2. The other ova is mostly filler but still very fun to watch at least once.
