i think the Maki fans you talked about might be the manga readers. Her role grows quite a bit after the point the anime left off.

As you were talking about Maki, I realized I see her as Kaguya who lost out on confessing to Miyuki (Tsubasa) and now he's in a relation with another girl (Kashiwagi). And that truly is sad for her. Feels like they downplay it to make it more comedic to distract from the tragedy.

Honestly, the only reason I wanted to show it to them (and everyone willing to watch it) boils down to the ost. That slowed-down piano rendition of season's 3 ending alone got me teary. It's a shame they weren't able to put that piece into the show itself, cuz it's 🔥!

Just to add... the episode 12/13 trailer is good for hype, but should only be watched after episode 11.

They watched season 3's trailer, not season 3 Episodes 12 and 13 (finale)'s trailer... Those are different buddy. I left a link there. I'm just trying to hype them up for what's to come.

But seeing you're already this far ahead in the show... If you'd really like to prolong the your enjoyment of this ending just a bit more, and enhance your Kaguya Sama experience to the utmost, I would strongly suggest you watched at the very least the last 12 and ½ minutes of the OVA (IMO, a relevant mini episode for the series, that must be seen) before season 3 episode 11... And throw in the trailer for the last 2 episodes of season 3 (yes, it was so good they made a trailer just for this last 2 episodes)...
