They wouldn't be able to milk the name if they did that. Unfortunately it's all about brand recognition. No one wants to start a new IP because it's a risky prospect. Gamers are sketch when it comes to new IPs. At least that's what publishers think.

Left you a comment where you making the BG2 comparison, 1:11:03, I bet you were going to use Baldur's Gate 3 as your example first right? The scene in Act 2 where you attack the Spider-Drow guy with the Moonlantern? You can either be stealthy and surprise him or blow the Harpers' cover! This just doesn't look like an RPG. Why didn't they just start a new IP and call it something else instead.
