Context: Valdricht feeding MC following her nightmare.

Serax: "Thy ywen krovir nei gelethes. Dralen, ywen ynvel nei skelth'vek."
Valdricht: "Zharu eri ywen skelth nei kalar'vek. Vayn eri thy eudnas'dra, ywen kethes."
Word-by-Word Translation: Valdricht: "I feed can. Eat."
Serax: "You her feed not should. Soon, she another not will-tolerate."
Valdricht: "Yet I her suffer not will-make. Already I you told, she stays."
Natural English Translation: Valdricht: "I can feed (her). Eat."
Serax: "You shouldn't feed her. Soon, she won't tolerate another (feeding her)."
Valdricht: "Yet I won't make her suffer. I already told you, she stays."
Context: Serax preparing food while discussing MC's condition.

Valdricht: "What more said is?"
Serax: "Mate? Joke this is?"
Valdricht: "I wish."
Valdricht: "My Serax. If you died, I you would-miss. Please, not her look again."
Serax: "I you not believe."
Valdricht: "We this-of later will-sing. I feed must. Come. Now."
Valdricht: "No? This remember."
Natural English Translation: Serax: "If you don't feed her, she'll suffer less. Perhaps you want to torture her. Perhaps you enjoy it."
Valdricht: "You presume too much."
Serax: "Why else do you want her?"
Valdricht: "She is my mate."
Serax: "What?"
Valdricht: "What more is there to say?"
Serax: "Mate? Is this a joke?"
Valdricht: "I wish."
Valdricht: "My Serax. If you died, I would miss you. Please, don't look at her [like that] again."
Serax: "I don't believe you."
Valdricht: "We'll speak of this later. I must feed. Come. Now."
[Valdricht says something in Serax's ear, causing Serax to pale. The MC doesn't hear what is said. If you want a hint, read the next exchange, otherwise you'll see it in an alternate POV scene next month.]
Valdricht: "No? Remember this."
Context: Valdricht speaking to Serax during sex.
Original Wyransith: Valdricht: "Eri vyrgoeth o mordyn sairyn. Ywen eri kythvir'vek. Eri ywen draethel tharran'vek. Thy eri sha beorethos nei kavreth'vek?"
Word-by-Word Translation: Valdricht: "I insanity from inch am. She me will-consume. I her constantly will-want. You me this misery not will-spare?"
Natural English Translation: Valdricht: "I am an inch from insanity. She will consume me. I will want her constantly. Will you not spare me this misery?"
My thoughts
Hopefully this was a helpful look into what was going on in the background during that scene. I'll be scaling back the Wyransith during future nights as the translations are really time consuming. Instead, I'll be more strategic in which words/sentences I incorporate into the narrative, focusing less on the conversations the guys are having and more on the MC's sense of alienation and her budding understanding.
The storm kept pounding us for a few days. I thought for sure it was some sort of tropical storm but it just seems like an abnormally heavy rainy season. At one point it stopped for an afternoon and we decided to go to the fair with the kids, then it suddenly started pouring and we got caught in a flash flood. Shortly thereafter the lights went poof for the better part of the weekend. That's actually pretty abnormal for where we live. Idk why I even mentioned it or the possibility of losing power in the last post, I guess my spidey senses were tingling after watching the Texas floods on TV. I hope no one got caught in those.
It's still raining today but thankfully the lights are back on and we live up on a big hill, so we're just hunkering down and waiting for the sunshine. Some pics of the neighborhood this weekend:
The second one is pretty crazy when you realize that ten minutes earlier the street was totally dry and there's a meter-deep drainage canal that is also flooded. We had to wade through this to get to our car two blocks down the street.
I'll be back in a couple days with a new update and I'll catch up on messages/comments. I'll also be posting a list of those requested kinks for the curious readers.

I've checked in with Mortish! A number of things have basically come crashing together, but she's okay and an update should be coming soon, she just hates to make excuses and thinks we'd rather hear from her when she updates vs. come with nothing. It'd be good to reassure her that's not the case 😊.

What a relief that you live on a big hill 💓 that flooding is nuts, I’m glad your family’s okay. I always think about the poor strays when areas flood, we’re getting it pretty bad on the east coast in the usa rn but my area has a great storm drain system so I haven’t personally been affected. The subways near me though… like industrial waterfalls. Ok the fun and not sad stuff: Totally makes sense to make less work for yourself but it’s still appreciated, the translations are fun because they’re like a midterm but for a fictional language for sexy vampires :) I can check how good I’m getting and honestly I understood most everything except for some contextual things. It’ll be nice when mc is on the same page and the translations aren’t needed though, poor girl 😂 everyone just talks over her, including us I most wanted to know what Val whispered and what Serax was thinking and you dangled the carrot of the POV, omgggg. Serax bedding and desiring mc and watching Val sleep w/ her after he just took -1000 emotional damage, the layers to that scene for all 3 of them. So excited for the pov. 😵💫 I also miss peeking into Valdricht’s head in particular 😞 I can’t blame Serax bc if I could access Val’s thoughts I’d be in there 24/7, just being nosy. He fascinates me and I’m at peace with being an addict. True *sila*, if u will
