"You sure we can handle another one"- I take it that the two of them already have at least one adopted child, since this story is about them trying a medical breakthrough allowing different species to breed? One idea I haven't seen fanworks tackle is the option of interspecies pred/prey couples actually being more prolific in births than if they stayed with their own kind. Might make for an amusing situation for Nick and Judy.
