They were too short, especially for a ZPD officer where the ‘weekend’ was often split into one day off here and one day off there, with no real pattern to predict when real time off was coming.
But this was an honest to goodness weekend! Two days. Leaving Friday after work, followed by a Saturday and Sunday with nothing to do except relax. There might be some time to get some long-postponed chores done along the way, but those wouldn’t take up all of the weekend. This obviously meant that she could just stay in bed, wallowing in the lack of anything to do even as the sun peaked through the windows and tried to remind her that she should be productive. And it was a performance that she could repeat again tomorrow!
It was easy to just think that she could do this, but the reality of it was that as Judy lay in bed, she ended up staring at the ceiling while wondering how people did this. Sleep refused to come back, no matter how many times she closed her eyes, and it was reaching the point that it actually annoyed her a little that she couldn’t just be a sloth (no offense to sloths) for one day.
So she closed her eyes and tried again.
The fact that the fox beside her hadn’t even moved yet also annoyed her, because he seemed perfectly capable of behaving like a normal mammal with a rational understanding for how to be lazy occasionally. Just because his ‘occasionally’ meant that she had to drag him out of bed for work sometimes didn’t mean she couldn’t envy his ability to just shut himself off and sleep in. Maybe it was because he was nocturnal?
She wasn’t sure that made any sense, but the thought was interrupted by the fully awake and clearly amused voice from beside her.
“You’re terrible at this, you know,” Nick quipped, the smirk on his muzzle growing a bit when she opened her eyes only to narrow them at his amused expression.
“Country girl,” she replied, sighing in resignation as she rolled onto her side facing him. He was propped up on one elbow, resting his cheek against one ruddy paw, and even though the blanket covered his legs and hips, she knew he was naked. She had made sure of that before they’d slept. “Sleeping while the sun is up just isn’t in my genes. Sometimes I wish I could just be lazy and stay in bed all day.”
“Well, staying in bed all day isn’t a problem, Carrots,” he said, reaching down to sweep the sheets away from his hips. She shouldn’t have been even a little surprised to see his cock was hard, the dark red length throbbing noticeably as he leveled a gaze on her that was about as innocent as her reaction to the sight. “It’s what you do with the day that matters.”
“Aw,” she said, smiling in a sweetly sultry way as her ears perked high and she sat up to let the sheets fall from her equally naked body, “You even brought me breakfast.”
“Anything for my beautiful bunny,” he said, his eyes following her as she fairly wiggled herself down the length of his body until her lips brushed against the tip of his arousal. “We’ll just have to enjoy this weekend the country girl way.”
