pixel art project update
🕑 Added 2024-12-20 04:30:32 +0000 UTCsmall pixel art project update, and a new enemy to draw. Altho i suppose it's not exactly a new enemy? you might've seen this one in another game already-
anyways it's a g-g-ghost! some soul trapped between the realm of the living and the realm of the dead, with an ectoplasmic mist surrounding it and trying to pull him into oblivion. As usual i made some sketches for this fella's moves and threw out some ideas for its design. In the end we decided to just leave his head blank as the sprite is so small and he's always trying to hide his face so the time you would get a good look at him would be very few.
after that i proceeded with the animations, starting with the transition from a neutral stance (different from the one in the sketches) to the pose for attack A-
then i did the attack A idle, pretty simple stuff for the guy, the hardest part was to animate the mist around him-
and finally, the attack where he lobs part of his ectoplasm at the player before the mist envelops him again.
anyways, that's all i managed to do these two days, hope you peeps like the anims!

Seems more... green lantern a celestial being wielding spectral powers. Not some tortured soul whose outbursts unnaturally lash and tear beyond reason. Hmmm Maybe a djinn, or.. just surprising. So beefy, expressive and dramatic. Only the surrounding aura - which is VERY creatively gas, bubble, fluid, flame and none of those at the same time so really reayl great job there - makes me think ghost. If so not thinking ghosts are wrong, sad, or powerless. More like... supposed to be. Like a character in an opera even as wails in pain and sorrow. Just interesting take overall and makes me more curious for the game
