pixel art project update
🕑 Added 2025-06-27 01:00:06 +0000 UTCwelp, another micro update for the pixel art project. Thing is, cgb is a tad busy with another project towards the end of the month so he can't exactly give me much work during these days. Wich is fine normally since i might be in the middle of animating an enemy so he doesn't need to follow me, but this time it coincided with me finishing all the work for an enemy so there's simply not much work to do.
i kinda wanted to postpone the update so i had more to show you but i mean... why wait, right? so yeah, this week i just finished all the remaining manticore animations starting for his attack b, the scorpion tail sting-
then i animated him jumping and landing, since as you know, that's how the enemies move around during battle (also drew a hurt frame towards the end of the anim)
i gotta say working on nonhuman creatures is really helping me understand how animals move, wich is super interesting and honestly kind of a fun challenge
lastly i animated the defense animation, wich is the manticore licking its claws like (cgb's words XD) a "pervert"
dunno if it comes across as pervy enough lol
speaking of perverts, after i finished the manticore cgb told me we need one more enemy for the cliffs area. both the manticore and the harpy are flying enemies so we needed a land enemy, and what lives near cliffs but doesn't fly? that's right, goats.
so yeah we're doing a satyr enemy next , lately i seem to be drawing a LOT of them, must be fate XD . I sketched some concepts for cgb , hopefully he'll like one of them-
they're.. probably a tad to weird for what he wanted, but i just wanted to explore different aspects of the creature and have some fun. It's highly likely none of these will make the cut but we'll see lol.

Big fan of the mystery rites Satyr - it feels very Greek mystery cult and that is an aesthetic i am down for

Really nice work man! And even if the satyrs won't make it for cgb game, they are really good practice, maybe for some fun content for HH world the least I would say. Although seeing the game so far, I'll say the two top left options may actually go well with his liking. Do love how the normal looks like, and the second one, the Aulos really gives some mystic yet horny vibes, that may stack well with the enemy types theme. Whichever may be, still really nice work!
