AlthePal

My guess is that she is gound to stick to her "current" methods. Since she's Water Type and seems to be HEAVILY influenced by her Type speciality, my guess is she's going to keep trying to find ways around the issue untill she wears the problem down. It seems like a disaster waiting to happen and I think Brock will finally erupt (eventually) in a big showdown with her xD

HoldTightAndPretendItsAPlan

Loving how Lola is portrayed in this story. Also loving how Brock is NOT Having It and sticking to his guns with her.

HoldTightAndPretendItsAPlan

You know, that's a good point? We never see Flint's Pokemon...

iceknight90

Brock and Sabrina: The beatings will continue until obedience improves.

Cory

"I'm not going to tread on your toes" Proceeds immediately to tread on all the toes. The immediate prevarication when Brock was laying down his rules is interesting because it means Lola knew exactly what he meant and was already trying to wiggle out of it. Brock has made an obstacle of himself. Lola has tried ignoring it and going around it, and neither worked. Her next options will be to either go through it, i.e. a pokemon battle or outright attacking Brock himself, or undermining him, i.e. challenging his authority in other areas. She is too self-centered to do what she should and actually work with the rules he put down. Good thing Brock has some recent experience dealing with someone who is highly fixated on their own goals to the detriment of all else, yet is naturally talented enough to see them potentially reaching that goal. To a less extreme degree of course. And finally, the Rock move Brock should (and maybe has) learn is Rock Polish, so that he can finally get ahead of Trixie.

Jean Marc Kunnen

That’s a normal type move

carebear90

I'd honestly like to see some interaction between Tide and Lola's Lapras... With Lola there of course. I think it's about time for Lola AND Flint to let their own Pokemon out of their balls more often and for longer. The war is over. And has been for a long time.

oakes

Everybody keeps forgetting the most often used rock move Brock has been using. Harden.

Torn2.0

How would one tell the difference between Brock using throw rock and Brock using Rock Throw?

David P.

So I get that - for the sake of the story - you have to make Brock be a good person. You have to make him not be petty and willing to give Lola some chances. But can we get a non-canon OMAKE where that doesn’t happen? Just for the psychological release, you know? Let your worst instincts take over. Follow Palpatine’s advice and let the hate flow through you. You know it’d be fun.

Fred Steel

Man, I don't know how this would happen narratively, but I want to see Surge yell/fight with Lola about her being a terrible parent. Two war vets who never really got out of wartime going at it. Plus, Lola insulted Surge's teaching of Brock how to punch! We cant have that.

rezo42

I'm now picturing Lola sneaking onto the reserve to try and train Brock's water-type Pokémon behind his back. All of them would just look at her like, "B*#tch, you are not my trainer."

Fred Steel

Didn't Brock do this when he punched Daniel's - now Pewter Jenny's Haunter back in chapter 91?

JustAFan

Unfortunately not 😄

Viva01

But was it a critical hit?

Viva01

UNLIMITED POWAH!

Viva01

Brock took a shot the first time and missed. Lola felt like she could get away with it in future then and make a game of it only to find that Brock was serious. Lola crossed the line in the sand and Brock followed through with his promise.

Viva01

Urgh like, isn't it just the most annoyingly used phrase to try and get around actually aplogising? But yeah. Lola is going to be a thorn to Brock until things can settle down somewhat.

Viva01

He has used Glare in the past, a version of Rock Polish to move quicker than he should. this is the first offensive move we've seen. Funny that it should occur against Lola... oh wait, no it's not!

Jeremy

While he has used rock moves… he does use Rock Energy to tank shrapnel from attacks and boost strength to lift pokemon seen in the Will match. It is just Dark Energy is more easy too see

MaliMi

Lola said Brock sucker punched her. The question is, did she mean the pokemon move? Also, Brock seems to be more capable of manipulating dark energy than rock. He already knows mean look and now sucker punch. I am not sure he can even execute any rock type move. He should really get dome dark type mons.

Alex Horsey

We’re going to get Lola’s idea over Brock like what he thinks now and how Loa’s can break the rules and We’re going to get her opinion and how it works I think, but in the next chapter, what do anybody else think?

Desidia

I was thinking of a scenario where Lola challenges Brock, so she can play around and make her cute water gym. She respects Cynthia, which lets me believe that Lola only respects strong trainers that beats her in a battle.

Torn2.0

The problem may well be spiritual and not physical. We know the soul exists in pokemon. It is highly likely that a person's soul is strongly linked with their Aura. It is absolutely possible that people who didn't understand what they were doing were experimenting on soldiers during the war and messing around with their Aura. Unwitting crimes against nature, the ordinary horrors of war, and the familial implosion we know Lola went through all combined could absolutely break something fundamental. Lola may be broken in a way that nothing short of all three Lake Guardians could fix. If the war was pushing people to break the souls of their soldiers, I could absolutely see a Legendary response being provoked.

Thomas Keller

That would require Lola to actually consent to any physical check ups, and there are indications that she is violently opposed to any sort of medical check overs (see when she knocked out the Nurse Joy who was tending to her in I believe it was either the Orange Islands or the Seire(sp?) Islands). If actually agrees to it, we'll see where things go I suppose

Anonykor

“I… I’m sorry you feel that way Brock,” Lola said while staring at her lap. That is such a triggering line. You know if you know. I’m glad Lola has been portrayed the way she is. I think a lot of fics would go the talk-no-jutsu route and it gets annoying. Having someone completely change after one conversation is almost more wish-fulfillment-esque than being self-inserted into the Pokémon universe.

Bat

About as painful as I imagined Lola would be.

Torn2.0

Screws loose implies that there is still a place for said screws. She is an IKEA set without half the pieces.

Jericho Rising

Please no, we'll suffer quite hard in that regard no matter the result.

Jericho Rising

Only neutrally effective sadly.

Jericho Rising

Both? Both is good. Agatha shadow sneaks all the darn time after all and I'm pretty sure brocks been demonstrating some rock like moves. Koga almost certainly knows quick attack or extreme speed at this point. And Sabrina? You can't just mark of psychics as Not using psychic moves, they're literally the same.

Jericho Rising

It's sad to have so many readers expectations shattered like this but it was Totally expected and warranted.

Alexander Gofric

Yes wyrdeer and kleavor will definitely be a highlight of the discussion with Cynthia regarding hisui. Definitely need to see if Erika could bring the grass voltorbs and see if Brock can evolve and bring ursuluna to the meeting as well. Already that’s 4 of the noble/ride pokemon associated with hisui.

Rinaldo

Brock punched Lola and it resolved nothing and nothing changed in their relationship, as expected

QuazarKMax

Good Brock let the hate flow through you!

Alexander Gofric

Can I just say shouldn’t they really push for Lola’s brain to be checked. Like she obviously has emotional issue but she also seems to have something actually physically wrong with her given her unusual pauses and stretches of times where she kinda disassociates. Of course maybe this would all be explained by ptsd or something but you would think they would want to rule out anything physical.

Petrox

Yay, mother in law fights! Can wait for Sabrina's family to join in. Brock: Koga sensei! Please train me in your ninja ways! Koga: why? Brock: I need to punch my mother, but she is a veteran. Koga: Teaching a son to punch their mother... I'm in, because it's Lola.

9Tales

HA!!! Suker punched Lola that had to be cathardic. On a side note I might have missed this but if you have aura you can use pokemon moves? Or did she mean sucker punch normaly

Donald Bagwell

Reason is its all the screws

BlackRazaras

Thanks for the chapter

Qweku_v

Excellent chapter. Lola would need a much heavier punishment to really learn her lesson and I'm here for it.

Rhett Sellers

Entertaining

ShinLupin

Looks like dealing with Lola will be an uphill-battle, but Brock is on the ball and has strong support in Sabrina. Yay, more Cynthia. She is in for history-feast. Wonder if the others on board also watched the fights. And if anybody will acompany her on the visit.

J.Rogue

The punch was a long time coming she needs to be institutionalized, she is a very frustrating character to read and makes it easy to empathize with Brock due to this. With that said great chapter thank you

JustAFan

Sucker punch is effective 😄

DanielPhantom79

Honestly I want Lola to keep breaking rules until she monumentally f’s around and finds out by getting kicked out of indigo I’m general like imagine she gets deported to international waters! Hilarious

Desidia

I need to see a battle! Lola vs Brock!

Munsu

I'd love to say that chick has a few screws loose, but at this level, even the best engineer and greatest detective could not find said screws, and even less rebuild her correctly.

Donald Bagwell
