Hello to all Testers!
To all of you—new and old—welcome to The Halo Project! I’m eternally grateful for your support. This project has exceeded all expectations because of you! What started out as a small Unity experiment out of boredom has grown into something truly special.
Once again, thank you so, so much for your time, effort, bug hunting, and hard-earned money. This project is what it is because of all of us here.
I’m here to talk about the future of The Halo Project and this Patreon page.
As many of you know, there were a few hiccups in the last couple of updates, especially regarding Android. Those issues caused a one-day delay for that platform. While I did find a quick fix, it made something very clear to me:
The project is at full capacity—at least the way I programmed it.
What’s the technical issue?
In short: Too many large (art) files. Android just can't compress them properly.
You might’ve noticed that in the current PC version, you can see .mp4 files sitting in the game folder. That’s part of the workaround.
Now, some of you might be bracing for this, thinking:
“He’s closing the game!”
NO—I’m not! Don’t worry.
But I am slowly sunsetting The Halo Project.
That means development will gradually slow down, and eventually stop. I expect that to happen sometime early next year. (Maintenance will still go on, but art will stop earlier)

No. I’m not doing that.
Instead, I’m starting a smaller spin-off project based on The Halo Project.
If things go well, I’ll release a preview soon.
This new game will be a chance to:
Test better ways to implement art
Build something more stable and less bug-prone
Actually plan things properly (and not implement the tutorial last)
Basically, I’m hoping to improve both myself and the project—and this time, not build a game fucking backwards.

I will mourn the ending of this games updates, but at the same time I am happy that you have an ending in mind. I love the open freeform of HP and I hope to see something similar in the next title. But mostly I'm here for the good hypno content. Good luck with wrangling this games code together!

Btw, I know it's reeeally difficult, but it would be great if the new project had random NPCs and a wide range of functionality for playing with them. I heard that the developer of LR2 wanted to implement Live2D in the project, but he never finished it. (
