Thanks K.S.! The apartment is quite nice—Beppu is a small city very far from Tokyo, so a little bit of money goes a long way. That said the walls are crazy thin. We can listen in on the dinner conversations of the couple next door. Will be sure to go for the reinforced concrete option next time haha. Thanks again!

Hey ^^ The curtains are actually designed to block out all light, so I can get consistent results by simply closing them. I edit with Final Cut Pro X, and use a lot of keyboard shortcuts. I almost never use the mouse during the initial edit (I've gone through several courses from Ripple Training that I found extremely beneficial, though I could still be a bit faster). I have a saved color profile for both my comedy lessons as well as the Japanese lessons so I can instantly copy and paste the 'look' for each. Those are the basics—let me know if you have any other questions! :D

Also I'm super impressed by your simple setup, especially for lighting. Since you're using a whiteish curtain on the one window I imagine you can't block all the light. Given that your results are amazingly consistent. I'd love to learn more about your editing process and about the amount of time you usually put into producing a video.
