Above is my Patreon exclusive Q&A I recently did with Matt from MattvsJapan. In addition to the above video, we also recorded a video in which I interviewed him regarding AJATT and MIA, and a video in which he interviewed me on how I use Japanese in my comedic series, among other things. I hope that everyone enjoys these videos, and is able to learn something from them! I'd like to do another Q&A with Matt sometime in the future such that we can answer more questions; apologies for not being able to answer everything this time around.

Just a comment on Matt talking about how he has matured and is trying to improve the MIA culture: I knew Matt before I found Dogen (who I found on accident while searching for advanced japanese lessons lol). I remember respecting him because his Japanese was just soo good. And I have watched most (if not all) of his yt videos and agree his method is effective. But in the last year or so, I've started to respect him more as a person as he has matured. Its like respecting a fellow athlete because they could beat you easily and respecting the same athlete because of his sportsmanship. Thank you both for the videos and for all you do to help people learn Japanese. I will be at your level too one day βπ½

I hadnβt heard of Matt before your Patreon email asked me for Qs to give him π Thank you for introducing him! This was a very interesting interview! β¦ I know it takes a lot of organisation and preparation, but if you get the chance to interview a woman with a similarly remarkable acquisition of Japanese, Iβd also find that interesting! Particularly since pronunciation and vocabulary can be altered to be more distinctly masculine or feminine in Japanese.

I wrote the same thing on Matt's video, but I wanted to say that I found your videos first and then Matt's quite early on in my Japanese learning process, and I owe a huge amount to both of you, so it's great to see you guys do a collab video together. I'm coming up on two years of serious pitch accent and MIA-style Japanese study this April and I probably wouldn't have come this far without both of your fantastic contect guiding me through the (still unfinished) journey. Thanks!
