Good afternoon Patrons!
I hope that this message finds you well. Long time Patron Neeson Champion has done us a huge favor—he spent countless hours of his own free time to create an Anki deck which includes all the examples from Japanese Phonetics (visuals and audio included!). He was even kind enough to write up a description for this post. Talk about initiative! Really can't express how appreciative I am for Neeson's efforts. Thanks again—this is a game changer that I'm sure all patrons will benefit from!

Here are all the examples from Dogen's phonetics series up to the current pitch-accent lesson (32), provided in Anki format.
Note: If you have been using the old version of the deck, you should be safe to use the above link to update it. In case you run into troubles, or you have significantly edited the old deck, you can use this deck instead (it contains only the examples from lessons twenty-four through thirty-two).
If you're not familiar with Anki, basically it works on flashcards and showing them to you at the most appropriate time to efficiently build your memory. More info here.
Anki is free and is available for most platforms. The iOS app is paid, but you can still use the web app if you choose not to purchase it.
Included are two types of cards for each example, Recognition and Production.
- Recognition is to test yourself on your listening ability. It provides the audio, and it is up to you to do your best to hear the pattern. Repeat it out loud. You can also try drawing out the pattern, or imagining it. These cards appear first when you’re doing doing new cards.
- Production is to test your ability to produce the example. The idea here is to read the sentence and reproduce it with the correct pitch pattern. There is even the possibility to record/replay your own voice (on Windows at least). These cards are buried automatically if a Recognition card is done on the same day, so don't worry if you don't see these initially!
Audio and images from the videos are included. Rule cards are not included, but if you feel like these would be helpful I encourage you to make your own. Check out the Anki manual for information.
Important info on getting set up!
Follow this guide up to step 4.
Ensure that "Bury related cards until the next day" is ticked on both the new and review tab.

Sorry Woolookologie—Neeson no longer regularly checks this pages and I'm not terribly educated when it comes to Anki so it may be better to do a bit of searching on an Anki forum, or perhaps trying to ask a friend or acquaintance that is familiar with the subject. Apologies for not being able to help more!

Hey! Thank you so much to Neeson for going through the efforts of making this. While I've been using Anki for quite a while, I'm still not extremely knowledgeable when it comes to tweaking certain settings, so I assume this boils down to me not setting it up properly; I'm currently watching Episode 8 and introducing the Anki cards when the examples are given in the video, but it started being off pretty quickly. For example, after the examples ○○がいたい, "たべれば" follows. Would you recommend to start using the deck later, once more examples are introduced or is my approach valid?

Thanks Neeson, this is fantastic! Extra tip: I decided I wanted to put all of Dogen's pronunciations on repeat for my commuting for the next few days, so I went to where the anki deck media files are stored (<a href="https://apps.ankiweb.net/docs/manual.html" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://apps.ankiweb.net/docs/manual.html</a>#file-locations) and saved the individual media files to my phone - I can now listen to them repeating using VLC (handily VLC allows me to adjust the playback speed so I can slow it down a bit).
