It was another day in the hell I call high school, when out of nowhere, the goddamn Dragonslayers, a villain/mercenary team that mainly hassles Dragon, busted right in like the Kool-Aid man, only with more guns and made of metal!
Then another twist happened, it turned out they were after Absolute in her civilian identity. And, due to the rules and not wanting to annoy the very dangerous parahuman, I won't be posting her civilian ID, even though it's probably all over this damn site anyway.
I didn't catch most of the fight, as, unlike my fellow Terminal PHOers, I do in fact have enough common sense to know that it's fucking stupid to stick around to record a fight between capes. But what I did catch it told me that Absolute does NOT fuck around.
She used these insane holograms to goddamn psychologically terrorize those three, and in the end, Saint fainted like a little bitch! I'm pretty sure some of the lunatics have already posted videos of the fight.
But that's all well and good, but see as The Girl With The Glasses... I wanted to actually know why the Dragonslayers decided to invade this school. So I ran after her and asked for an interview, and for the full transcript, use this Link here.
But I will say that, despite playing Rogue AI Villain on those three, Absolute is a complete sweetheart. A bit awkward, but she's actually very approachable and pretty friendly. I even met her supposedly psychotic sister, Cyn, and she's... honestly adorable despite looking like a little Gothic Maid from a Horror story.
Even met her dad! And he even told me a bit about the Bay before New Wave, then Brockton Bay Brigade, captured Marquis and had him Birdcaged.
And I just also want to ask this one question.
Why is the robot hot?

“Okay, that’s enough of PHO today.” She really didn’t need to read people thirsting over her metallic butt or the fact that Cyn was just making things worse for her own amusement… unless she didn’t realize she was making things worse, which was sadly possible.
Anyway, after the PRT finally arrived to take the Dragonslayers in, Taylor got a ride while her Dad had to get to work. And now she was standing outside the Director’s office, and she could already imagine what it’d be over. According to the other Wards, she’s something of a hardass with a chip on her shoulder regarding parahumans.
It wasn’t enough to make her regret joining, honestly, seeing the horrors Cyn was capable of? An overweight human with a grudge was barely a concern. Though the fact that she used ‘human’ in her mind did, however, concern her.
Deciding to push off another attack of existential dread, she decided to pass the time by playing Tetris. And unknown to her, the game showed on her visor, and she was going so fast it looked like a sound board!
“She’s ready for you now,” The director’s secretary said.
“Ah, thank you,” Taylor said as she paused her game and entered.
The Director was… clearly unhappy. And unhealthy, if the dialysis machine in the corner of the room meant anything. But there was a chair to sit in, at least. “Well, it could have gone worse,” Director Piggot started.
“Sorry, ma’am.” Taylor said, “I honestly wasn’t expecting anything like that to happen.” Honestly, she was expecting a knife fight between thugs.
And yes, that had happened at least three times since she started attending Winslow.
“Not your fault,” She replied, hand going up, “I’d have preferred if you’d subdued them differently, but what’s done is done. The interview was a good call, even if it wasn’t with the press; it humanized you a bit. But please try to keep the… horror show to people that deserve it and not the random thugs?”
Taylor blinked. Honestly, she felt she was pretty restrained in dealing with the Dragonslayers. But she could work with that.
“Yes, ma’am,” Honestly, arguing about her actions was just a waste of time really; she just got a little ‘Silly’ as Cyn would put it. And… well, if Dad wasn’t there, she probably wouldn’t have hopelessly traumatized them. “So, limit the horror to the Neo-Nazis?” She couldn’t help it.
“Their capes, or if it can save civilians,” She specified, “But you’ll be kept off that patrol path for now anyway, instead you’ll be… doing PR. Walking around people on the boardwalk, in safer areas, getting the public to know you.”
“Understood,” Honestly, she felt it was a waste to keep her away, but she understood. Though one of her eyes glitched at the PR bit, “To further convince people I’m not a killing machine?” Though technically she was, convincing the public was a different matter.
“Yes,” Piggot replied, bluntly, “But you didn’t kill anyone, and the property damage was minimal; mostly caused by the so-called Dragonslayers, so I’m more than willing to be lenient.”
“That’s fair, annoying but fair.” Taylor admitted, “Though if Cyn didn’t mess with their suits and my Dad had been shot well…” She just trailed off.
It wasn’t that she didn’t know what she’d do; it was the fact that she knew what she’d do and how to extract the utmost suffering and pain without them dying that worried her.
“And you wouldn’t be blamed for killing them in that situation,” She replied, “But we’d still have to punish you to keep people calm. Give you therapy, if nothing else.”
Taylor just nodded, “I understand.” Honestly, the last thing the Bay needed was a pissed robot with Solver abilities.
A single [Null] in the wrong place could delete half of the city! Though she wondered if she could use a [Null] to get rid of the ship blocking the Bay?

Taylor… considered bringing that up and suggesting it, if only because the PR aspect would do wonders for herself and the PRT in general. But she shelved it. She was still at %25 and only capable of basic telekinesis; she’d bring it up when she got closer to the ability.
“On that note,” Piggot started, grabbing a stack of papers, “Your school transfer papers came in. I was going to have Armsmaster give them to you, but you’re here now. Underneath them is a map of the city… which includes places you aren’t allowed to go.”
“Yes, ma’am. Thank you,” She said, honestly, she’d normally be more informal, but she did technically work for the lady.
And honestly, she already had being a parahuman working against her, might as well not give the Director more reason to dislike her.
“Don’t thank me too early,” She grumbled, “The Youth Guard also wants to meet with you. Guess what they do by the name. And who created them?”
“... Oh god…” Taylor muttered, already imagining well-meaning Karens that didn’t know a single damn thing, and well-meaning people trying to protect the children but utterly failing.
“Mm,” Piggot hummed, “Some of them are good people, hard workers, and honest. Some of them aren’t, for your sake, I hope they’re the first option. Vista and Clockblocker think I didn’t hear their complaints, but I did. And Armsmaster’s. And my men’s.”
“... Why do I want to blame Cyn?” Taylor muttered to herself, but it wasn’t quiet enough as the Director just snorted.
… This is Cyn’s fault, isn’t it…
“Well, when do I meet my… Youth Guard representative?” Taylor asked, thinking she did rather well in keeping the dread out of her voice.
“In… half an hour,” Director Piggot replied, “They didn’t want me to warn you ahead of time to prevent you from ‘forming biases’, but that’s-” She cut herself off, “Just prepare yourself a bit.”
“Well, that didn’t sound ominous at all,” Taylor thought, “Well, if that's all, I’ll take the map and look it over until it’s time. I’ll be in the Wards room until then,” She added.
“You’re dismissed,” Director Piggot sighed, “And remember to sign your paperwork.”
“Ma’am,” Taylor said with a nod before she looked at the papers she was supposed to sign, and after referencing them, cross-referencing them, and quadruple-checking them for any sneaky shit, she finally signed them. “Does my Dad need to sign as well?” She asked curiously.
The Director just nodded, “I’ll need those back in a few days.” She said as Taylor took the papers in hand, and with another polite nod, she left and with a faint sigh, she made her way to the Wards' room, all the while resuming her game of Tetris.

Pausing her fifty-seventh game of Tetris, honestly, something about the game was addictive, never mind the music, she looked at her Youth Guard representative and withheld any judgment. Easily sectioning off any pre-conceived biases to give this interview a fair chance.
And did she ever mention how freaky it was to be able to edit her own mind? Cause it really, really was…
Still, of the two people in the room, an older gentleman and a young, almost peppy-looking, woman… she hadn’t expected the woman to be the one she was directed to talk to.
“Ah, Ms. Hebert. Or would you prefer Absolute?” Her representative asked kindly.
“I’m fine with either,” Taylor said with a shrug, “But Taylor’s fine.”
“Maybe in the future, when we know each other better,” She said, “Now, this is just a formality. I’m well aware of the reputation my organization has. And I’d just like to say that while it isn’t fully wrong, some of our members are very… difficult; not everyone is like that. And I just wanted to have this little meet and greet to clear the air.”
“And… he is?” Taylor asked, gesturing to the older man.
“Oh, he’s a copyright lawyer,” She replied with a smile, “See, we heard and saw some recordings of music you were making, and we thought it was a good idea to bring one so they don’t get stolen or used without your permission.”
“Ah, those are actually Cyn’s,” Taylor corrected, “But… um, sure that sounds like a good idea…”
“Did Someone. Say My. Name?” Cyn asked as she appeared, balancing on the back of a chair, “Giggles. Get Snuck Upon. I Am Sneaky.”
Neither person in the room so much as twitched, though the woman snorted, “Oh, right, I’m Ms. Jules, but you can call me Samantha. We were just talking about your music, Cyn. We thought it was a good idea to copyright them, maybe you can sell them or use them for PR events?”
“Oh. Okay. That Sounds. Like A Good Thing.” Cyn nodded, “Though I Will. Have To Make. More PR. Friendly Ones. And Not. Ones About. My Trauma.”
“Oh, no!” She replied with a grin, “Pop-punk is really popular, and it makes you seem approachable anyway. If you sanitize them, it’d just sound fake.”
Taylor just sat back and watched with some amusement, not that she was really familiar with pop-punk herself. She hadn’t really been much of a music aficionado.
“... I really should get a flute and try to learn it…” If only in her mom’s memory. And who knew, she might find it relaxing.
“Okay. But If. I Traumatize. Anyone It Is. Their Own Fault.” Cyn said with a grin, “But I Don’t. Need The Money. So Can You. Just Give It. To Taylor?”
“We can,” She replied, “Most of it would go into a trust fund, laws and such, but a large portion would also go to her tinker budget, if she needs one.”
“That Is Fair.” Cyn said, “Do You Like. Pop-Punk. Curious Stare.”
“I’m more of a pop-idol girl,” She replied, “Big fan of Bad Canary, kinda glad she got broken out of prison.”
“Dragon Did. A Good Thing.” Cyn said, "Actually I. Have A New Song. I Wrote For. My Big Brother. And His Girlfriend. If You Would Care. To Listen.”
“Sure!” She replied with a smile, “I’d love to!”
Cyn looked around for a moment before seeing a monitor, which glitched before the Solver glyph appeared on it, and music started to play.

“A little darker than most,” Samantha said, frowning in thought, “But I like it! It’s catchy, and love songs are always popular.”
“Things Were. Not Always Happy. Back Home.” Cyn admitted, “But Big Brother N. And Uzi. And Maybe Big Sister V. Are Happy.”
She nodded. “Well, if you send your songs to Mr. Kender here, he’ll get them all copyrighted, if that sounds good to you?”
“Okay.” Cyn said, as her eyes glitched and Mr. Kender’s cell dinged, “Done. Take. Your Time.”
“... That’s a lot of songs,” He said after a moment, “Well, I’m glad I get paid hourly, I’ll start on it as soon as I get back to my office.”
“I Have. A Lot Of. Free Time.” Cyn said, “I Can. Space Songs Out. More Before I. Send Them. To You.”
“It’s fine,” He replied, “I’ll do them in batches, a bit faster that way.”
“And as he said, he is getting paid hourly by us,” Samantha snarked. “Last thing that’s important,” She said, sliding a card over to Taylor, “That has our number on it. If you ever think you’re being abused or taken advantage of in any way, we’ll do our best to help. We’re a watchdog organization and, well, I’ve been in more senatorial offices than I can count, at least.”
As Taylor took the card, she couldn’t help but feel she got very lucky with Samantha.

Ah yes, don’t warn (freshly traumatized) child of upcoming meeting with an unfamiliar adult NOT actually associated with the group you are joining. Great way to avoid biases! Edit: okay that went better than expected.
