The State of the Patreon: An Honest Update

(Another cool reason is because the first time I started working in KKP was in June of 2022) I wanted to outline how I’ve been feeling about the stuff I make, the stuff I’d like to make and setting expectations for the future of this page.
My View of My Work
I think the new stuff over the past few months has been a little stale for me creatively. I like all of it, adding dialogue has especially added a lot of room for creativity, but I feel like visually there hasn’t been any improvements. The lighting is inconsistent and sometimes even makes the characters look flat. The progression from image to image is off and sometimes doesn’t flow well. I also think I write the characters in a way that doesn’t highlight their personalities well enough. I think I am in need of a big creative refresh to get some new ideas, learn some new things and take a short break from making stuff.
My View of the Patreon and Making Future Content
I enjoy making stuff that other people enjoy, I actually started using Koikatsu in 2022 to learn animation through a simpler animation software. I posted my stuff on PIXIV and after dealing with the censorship of the platform, decided to use Patreon to post my stuff. In that process I sort of got bogged down in making new stuff that I forgot about the whole point, to learn animation. RWBY Koikatsu became my most time consuming hobby taking up around 4 hours every sat/sun. While I still like making stuff for you guys, I want to turn my attention more towards improving my skills as an animator, with R18 stuff on the side.
I’ve made little animations here and there but I’m never super happy with how they turn out and they are very bare bones, as I hardly utilize the program well. Eventually I want to get to the point where the Patreon is ONLY animations, starting with Koikatsu animations similar to someone like Hrenit. The long term is Blender, I’ve messed with the program off and on for around a year and have started to be more consistent with learning it, however given the around 20 hour commitment of each RWBY KKP set, it’s tough to find the time. It’s a much more complicated program so anything I make l wouldn’t post anything here yet. But, Blender is a great free program for me to eventually become an animator using the NSFW stuff as a great way to practice. However, in the short term Koikatsu is a tool I know how to use, at least at a basic level, so I want to learn that animation in KKP with Blender being a side project. So, to summarize all that: My soft goal going forward will be one chapter update for Huntress Temptations every month. The extra time gained from this will be dedicated to learning KKP animation, with Blender animation as a parallel long-term project I'll eventually transition into.
To lay it out plainly, before I spent around 40 hours a month on 2 sets and from now on, I’ll be doing 1 set for 20 hours and with the extra 20 hours, I will be spending time improving at Koikatsu and Blender. The goal of this is to: Give myself a break from constantly making stuff, work on improving the stuff I make and build something for the future of the Patreon and for myself. I hope that guys see the proof of this once Futa Yang X Neo comes out at the end of the month.
Personal Stuff:
I did want to personally thank you guys for sticking around, while to you guys I am another smut peddler (hopefully one of the nicer ones) but you guys really did help me through a tough time in my life. Since about OCT of 2023, (some of you might remember me taking an extended break) I’ve dealt with health anxiety, panic disorder and depression. It’s been a really tough road full of the worst thoughts, feelings and symptoms but I am on the upswing from all of that. A part of the credit for my improvement has to go to you guys. Just having the routine of, “Oh yeah, I should probably work on that set today” has really helped me stabilize parts of my life. So, thank you guys for helping me through all of that!
The last thing I wanted to leave you guys with is a thought that really helped me through that dark period. Pretty soon this will all be over, if you’re suffering, good times will come, if you’re happy, cherish that time because eventually you won't be around. Everyday is a blessing in it’s own way, make someone’s day better everyday.
