🕑 Added 2023-01-06 19:31:48 +0000 UTCHey ! It's been a long time since the last one! I went on hiatus and then started to try and focus on finishing my batch once and for all so i can focus on this project, and while, im still working on that batch, there's still a few things to talk about here!
First off, here's a to-do list for what's left to do for the demo:
-Main menu
-Book opening & closing animations
-Page Flip animations
-new menu designs (only in main menu)
-Bookmarks (& hover versions)
-Quick menu
-Window pop-ups redesign (After demo is out)
-Demo end green screen background
-Demo end Credits, special-thanks and shout-outs screens.
-Finish sprites
-Audio (After demo is out)
-Audio sfx
-Audio dialogue
-Audio music
A lot of the current sprites are not colored and have just the lines done yet, the second scene of the demo's wip hasn't has been updated with the lineart yet tho cuz there was issues with resolution stuff and might need to redo it uwu'
When it comes to the Main menu, i decided to change it into something more...Like i don't want the focus of the menu to be the characters, i want it to be more simple, das why i changed my idea for it, thought im not sure if i'll try to set it up before the demo comes out or after.
Speaking of the main menu, i got to contact someone that is ready to help me out on the more technical side of things for the vn, they've been quite busy helping people in a lot of different VN project and tbh im really happy to have em ready to help ^w^
Other than that, i finally did the last two backgrounds of the demo!
Other than all of the visual stuff however, I've been writing scripts notes and overall managing the story beats for all of the story a LOT trying to tie it all up in the best experience i can provide.
Im a bit stuck on the script of the first chapter, cuz like, i want the first chapter even if it's supposed to hook people in, to be the less eventful chapter, full of a lot of discussions, most of em pointless, i mean, with the point only to see both characters interact, but there's very little actual plot happening or set ups. And while it's how i want it to be, it's kinda by design that i want it to be the less attention seeking chapter, im still having anxiety over this decision, so im trying to make a compromise where like, while compared to the rest of the story, not much happens, at least im thinking that i should work on the script so the conversations taking place subtly sets up themes and events that will take place in the future whilst still looking like genuinely random shenanigans?
Again, im quite stressed of not doing things right haha, but, i can't spend my whole life trying to make it satisfying when i know i'll never be fully satisfied haha.
But yeah, even if im focusing on comms right now, i just wanted to show ya that im still trying to keep up a certain pace, and tbh it's been very hard to keep myself from just, working on it whenever i can cuz i know that right now i should focus on one thing at a time.
