Game Dev Diary #4
🕑 Added 2024-03-16 04:07:44 +0000 UTCProgress report time! To verify I haven't been sitting on my ass all week doing nothing. Last time I was just beginning to dabble in the top down shooter course I'm taking online. Just figuring stuff out. Safe to say I've got a lot more going on now.
We got ourselves a real 1920x1080 board to play on now. I've been learning a ton of stuff that'll be really fun to play with in the future. HUDs, health bars, multiple weapons, enemy AI and enemy attacks, plus tons of ways to just refine the code behind the scenes and make things run nice.
In my spare time I've also been trying to learn how to draw rooms in isometric perspective. Y'know, like how those kinds of video games look. I've been using Andy and Leyley as a study since I'm also looking to do hand drawn backgrounds. The left is the apartment from Andy and Leyley's 1st game and the right is just my own creation trying to understand this way of drawing.
In terms of upcoming projects, I will have two drawn projects coming out this month so don't you worry! I also have multiple projects still coming together in the background that I'm excited to share with you all soon. Hope you're a fan of the Kat and Olivia duo.
