I think the fog and what's in it doesn't actually matter in this circumstance beyond being a danger in the colloseums game. The irony is in the rituals, and the fact that she is a priestess. Im kind of waiting for her to decide to draw the symbol Charlotte gave her out of spite for a different ritual only to have the colosseum actually summon the power and attention of whoever owns said symbol from both inside and outside the simulation. Whether that is chaos loving Dragon who decides to entertain themselves, or the loving gaze of Gaia who will actively protect the innocents inside the trial.

If the Colosseum REALLY has a sense of irony, then the content of this trial is related to what's going on in the present. So... this god in the fog... what happened to it, I wonder?

Her first trial seems to be survive the platinum core and keeping these people alive it seems. It also makes sense the colosseum is testing how well can Jade do when she's not well prepared.

I feel like it probably all together has to do with the Continent becoming "Forsaken". Like a bunch of disparate apocalypses happening at around the same time.
