She had been retrieved by a prefect named Scarlett. The girl was professional enough as she wrote Amelia up, but was similar to Maxine in that she didn’t seem interested in letting anything slide for the new girl. Especially after what Amelia had been caught doing.
Indecent exposure. Leaving the school grounds without permission. Skipping class–her private tutoring session counted as ‘class’ in terms of discipline; between her library trip and everything with Summer, Amelia had completely forgotten that she was supposed to be attending that. Loss of academy property, as Amelia had no way of explaining where her uniform was.
For a girl who had never so much as been chastised for being tardy, this was quite the contrast.
Amelia really wanted to blame Summer and Irene for everything. However, she had learned multiple times that it was difficult to make any accusations stick when each girl had multiple ‘witnesses’ who would tell a different story. The last thing she needed was being perceived as a snitch after not actually getting anywhere by pointing the finger; until she could prove she wasn’t actually a student, Amelia didn’t need to be making enemies.
She had hopefully survived what ended up being a mortifying round of hazing. Maybe that was enough to earn her way into Summer’s group, for the sake of getting the burner phone that was still high on Amelia’s list of priorities. Based on her experience at the library, it was going to be difficult to find any other kind of useful technology before Monday.
Also, the advice of the security guard wasn’t the worst idea. If Amelia could just avoid any more trouble, maybe it would be easier to figure something out. That meant not arguing with the prefect who gave her four pretty heavy infractions, and doing the best she could to follow the academy’s rules and systems moving forward. Making waves would only limit her already limited options.
So, what was a young woman like herself supposed to do in the meantime?
The closest experience to a boarding school she had was her recent college years. Normally a dorm room was a good sanctuary. Unfortunately, Amelia didn’t actually have a key to her Westridge room. She had been escorted there by Ashley and Claire last night, and whisked out of the bedroom this morning by the duo as well. That’s where all of Amelia’s resources were, too. It would be nice to brush up on the subjects she had done poorly on during the aptitude test, and perusing the handbook again wouldn’t be the worst idea.
Ashley had really screwed her over by starting all of this on a Friday. As a ‘transfer student,’ Amelia had no idea what she was doing on the barely familiar campus. Maybe a prefect who was responsible for her dorm would have a master key? That’s how it worked at college. The administration building was closed, so obviously the office wasn’t an option. She wanted to swear in frustration, yet even that made her nervous that someone might overhear. Amelia really, really didn’t need another infraction.
Or she could track down Summer, now that Amelia had paid her dues. Focus on the bigger picture, even if it potentially risked more problems.
After weighing her options for a couple minutes on the edge of campus, Amelia opted to go with none of them. Not yet, at least. Instead, she made her way towards the dining hall. She was absolutely starving; after being pressured to give away her breakfast to the other girls, followed by a bit of exercise that came with volleyball as well as the physical elements that came with streaking afterwards, Amelia needed something to eat. And although she had felt more like a student than an aspiring faculty member over the last few hours, the petite blonde still had plenty of mature habits to fall back on. Like not hastily making a decision, now that she finally had the option to take a breath and think things through without being put on the spot by Ashley, Summer, or anyone else.
Amelia also had to deal with the discomfort of not having a bra on at the moment. Though she had been given a spare uniform from wherever it had been acquired, the immature bra was with the girls from earlier. Not only was it awkward walking around without an undergarment on her chest, but she looked embarrassingly flat without anything to support her smaller breasts. Thankfully, the schoolgirl image included a blazer, or she would be more nervous about her nipples in the white dress shirt. It was a problem that access to her dorm room wouldn’t even fix, as the training bra was something Ashley and Claire had provided in place of the nicer lingerie Amelia had worn onto campus yesterday.
Stepping into the dining hall for the second time in one day made Amelia feel like that much more of a student. She was just one of dozens of girls who were all dressed the same, and her reflection earlier had made it clear even to herself that she fit right in when taking into account both the uniform as well as the fact that she had none of her usual enhancements that offset her more youthful XYZ. The way Claire had braided her hair was the worst crime of all, in terms of stealing away Amelia’s favorite feature that doubled as her only real naturally mature feature.
Standing in line offered more time to think through the events of the last day and a half, and how insane it was that she blended in so easily. Her growling stomach drew a bit of unwanted attention from the group of girls in front of her, though they were older students who were content giggling about the awkward noise amongst themselves rather than teasing Amelia about it. She might have looked young, but Amelia was observant enough to know for a fact that she was what caused their noticeable amusement, which in turn made her lightly blush as she impatiently waited in line.
When she finally reached the front, it didn’t take Amelia long to pile her tray full of food. She didn’t go overboard, of course, though it was definitely more than she’d take for an average meal. She kept an eye out for Summer and company, though they probably weren’t taking an early lunch. Finding a table to herself and letting out a heavy sigh as she tried not to think about the wildly inappropriate experience from earlier that ended in her getting caught in nothing but her underwear, Amelia ended up getting all of thirty seconds to herself before she was found by someone who no doubt wanted to have more fun at her expense.
“Millie!” Ashley exclaimed. Plopping down next to her with a smile, the dark haired girl smiled and asked, “How are you settling into your new school, little cousin?”
