The Weekend Visit, Part 32
🕑 Added 2024-01-13 21:20:35 +0000 UTCThe dress followed the theme of pink I had been dealing with ever since Kate first grabbed those pull-ups off the shelf.
Though plenty of redheads looked good in the color, I knew from experience that it wasn’t flattering on me due to my annoyingly youthful features. As for the outfit Luna was holding up, I was more interested in burning it than trying it on. The pink floral pattern made it seem like something a child would wear to an Easter church service. Compared to the dresses the other three had been trying on, I knew just by looking at it that wearing it would make me look years younger than them. Speaking of themes.
Before I could think of a way to politely express my distaste, Kate exclaimed, “Ooh, it’s so pretty! Think it’ll fit?”
“Probably!” Luna replied. She stepped forward and held the dress up to my body, “Yeah, Annie’s about the same size we were at twelve.”
I tried not to flush at the unintentional insult towards my body. Luna couldn’t help it, after all. She didn’t know I was really nineteen, so I couldn’t blame her for assuming I was the average size of a middle schooler. Especially when Kate was there for reference as my ‘older sister,’ with all the height and curves I never got.
“Go on, little sis,” Kate said, “Try it on.”
“Umm, like . . . ” I trailed off. She and Lilah had been dressing and undressing for several minutes with potential outfits, meaning that I would instantly look like the odd one out if I insisted on changing privately. It would certainly fit the immature image our cousins had of me, though maybe that was worth it. They already knew about the diapers thanks to Kate; I really didn’t want them seeing the padded underwear on top of that.
Unfortunately, Kate felt the exact opposite. Correctly reading my hesitation, she said, “It’s fine, Annie. Your diapers are only embarrassing if you make them embarrassing. Besides, your cousins have probably done some babysitting, right?”
“I have!” Lilah chimed in, “Luna hasn’t; she doesn’t have the patience for it.”
“I’d rather deal with whiny adults,” Luna shrugged, “Fewer headaches.”
“Try living with Annie,” Kate giggled, “She pretends to be grown up, but everyone can see that she still has a ways to go. Speaking of, sis. Are you going to be mature and change here with the big girls? Or do you want me to take you back to our room so you can have a little privacy?”
Ignoring the jab that was intentional on Kate’s part, I kept my attention on the choice she was giving me. The ‘mature’ option was rather counterproductive, as I had to imagine the sight of me in diapers and a training bra would undermine my alleged comfort with joining them in trying on outfits. Yet the alternative was going off with Kate again, which I assumed meant she would supervise me the whole time. Similar to using the toilet, the act of stripping down and trying on a new dress was something I did by myself all the time. Just not when my sister made it her mission to treat me like a little girl every waking minute.
Still, it was hardly a decision. If Kate was going to be present and fussing over me either way, I could at least choose the option that kept our cousins from actually seeing the diapers, even if they already knew about them. After all, my future maturity and reputation was at stake as well. Family gatherings down the line, etc. The last thing I needed was knowing that my cousins had witnessed me wearing diapers, as they would eventually learn that I was Kate’s older sister.
“Like, our room?” I requested. It came out way less confident and definitive than I had planned. Probably because I was once again projecting beyond this weekend, and thinking about how there was no way to truly avoid the kind of humiliating gossip that would go around from cousin to cousin. Maybe Luna and Lilah were good at keeping secrets with each other, but eighteen and recently graduated still made them teenage girls. And girls liked to talk.
Kate gave a small sigh, though she didn’t push the issue. After all, she had been the one who offered the choice. “Suit yourself,” she said. Taking the dress from Luna and draping it over her arm, Kate then used her free hand to hold mine. “Come along, Annie.” She guided me out of the room and down the hall in the usual fashion, looking even more like the older girl due to the fancy cocktail dress she was wearing that dramatically contrasted the casual outfit I had worn to the mall.
Once we were back in the guest room and Kate had closed the door behind us, she gave me a belated lecture on how I really shouldn’t be nervous about changing in front of our cousins. Especially since it was just a matter of trying on a dress, so I’d still have plenty of modesty. Plus we were all girls, so it was whatever. She conveniently left out the part that made it different from a more normal setting. Concluding that since I had at least proven that I was capable of removing my clothes during my potty training earlier, she would allow me to take off my own clothes before she helped me with the dress.
I did just that, as I had obviously learned better than to stall or argue when Kate had so much leverage on me. Also, putting on a childish dress was objectively better than lying down to get my diapers removed. Reluctantly dropping my skirt to my ankles for the second time in less than thirty minutes, suddenly finding myself preferring the solid pink compared to what I was about to put on, I stepped out of the fabric pooled at my feet while removing the tank top as well. Half expecting Kate to take a picture of me as I stood there in just the thick diapers and nude training bra, or perhaps for her to shove the pacifier in my mouth again, I instead was merely told to put my arms up.
Honestly, Kate ignoring the fact that I was in diapers was almost worse than her smirking about it. Like it was business as usual, despite how mortifying it was from my perspective to be perpetually wearing diapers and going along with letting everyone think I was her tween sister. And yet, all I could do was feign my usual closed-mouth smile as she put the dress on me, as I had been reminded again and again that I needed to play the part even when it was just the two of us.
“Oh, this is perfect,” Kate chuckled. Finally acting more like her bratty self as she stepped back and looked me over, she said, “Since it’s been a while, why don’t you remind me of who you are, and everything else?”
What I really wanted to do was find a mirror to see just how childish I looked in the dress. But to avoid rocking the boat, I giggled and said, “Like, my name is Annie, I’m twelve, and I’m, like, a diapered little brat . . . ”
“Now you’re getting it,” Kate nodded, “All the more reason for you to go to camp with Luna and Lilah. Would you rather nine days in diapers back home?”
