Net Yaroze: The PS1 Consumer Dev Kit that Brought Indie Games to the Demo Discs - Kim Justice
🕑 Added 2017-03-24 12:41:00 +0000 UTC If you ever bought the UK Official PlayStation Magazine, chances are you knew about Net Yaroze - the Black Console that people used to make their own games for the system! Some of these appeared on the demo discs, but they're only a small chunk of what people were creating...in this video, we cover the story of Net Yaroze and its users, a whole bunch of games, and the legacy of perhaps the first popular consumer dev kit for a console in the West. Enjoy!

Another fantastic episode about something I had no previous knowledge of and no realization it would be fascinating. Great job, Kim!

Fantastic idea for a video! I always wanted one of these, but didn't have the cash to get one, and even if I'd got one, I sincerely doubt I would have made anything worthwhile on it, just like I never created anything worthwhile on the Amiga, despite having tools for creating games on that too.
