I will have one out later today, but don't currently have a fixed schedule here on Patreon, which is obviously quite annoying for you guys ^-^' I'm aiming to have 2-3 chapters for Loopshard out on patreon every week, such that the backlog with RR grows steadily over time

Afrisan

When do chapters come out for this?

Throh_goblin Lord

Sadly and thankfully stopped playing after mists of panderia, the lvl 100 cap for draenor finally revealed to me that it was simply never going to end

yeah, back when you could get to level 80, feel like a king, and start side characters to farm for your main accounts mounts and gear. WotLK had to be one of the best updates for me because at the time my guild was one of the more powerful guilds on our server and we had managed to go through all the 25 man raids and everyone main account had conqueror and the new armour sets and dropped weapons from running the raids, and all it took was us all no lifeing raids for a week or 2. and all of it was to go fuck with this guy named James in the battlegrounds.

I remember collecting pets in WoW back around WotLK, but that was before the pet combat system. I played a lot of wow during that expansion, the PvP and Arenas were amazing back then

Throh_goblin Lord

Yeah, I've found that for MMO's they are more of a time suck then you realize and you can only really grasp it in the rearview. Especially when you create something tightknit like a guild or grounds party, because you gain access to so many raids and features and quests that you simply cant stop. especially when side features are 10X more fun with people to enjoy it with, that one is from when they introduced the pet system in WoW and we would go around collecting them trying to create our version of a full Pokedex.

The Devs were kind of terrible, but somehow that brought people together, lol. I had a phase of my life where i basically just played that game every day since I was a guild leader and into raids and such. It's weird, because it's both such a dark period of my life, but also full of good memories.

So I think you have a good point about loopers not willing to risk the possibility of not looping being a major problem for most universes. Though I am curious if you don't think he goes into the last loop of each universe (last before Adams involvement) do you think he goes into a random loop or that for every loop he does each universe does an unknown amount of loops?

So, I have a little theory. The Trials are called the "Trials of defiance" and as has been mentioned several times, they are intended to be "defied". So, what if the Stages do not actually have an end? And what if there is basically and infinit number of secrets, upgrades, prestiges, achievements, quests, etc. that, in theory, let a looper get infinitely stronger, so long as they put in the time and effort. But, in the end, no matter how powerful they become, they simply can not win the Trials by clearing stages, because the stages simply have no end. Instead, you have to "defy" the Trials to be able to clear them. And this is also where (I think) the trap comes in that is the Self-Devouring Eye. My thought is that the SDE is not obtained like most Relics through random chests, but instead is a "secret" Relic obtained through a "plot mission" if you want to call it that. Essentially, you have to guide the plot of a specific mission in a specific direction to obtain it. that would also be why in every Dimension it seems to be one person of a small selection who becomes the looper, because those people are the most likely to naturally act in the right way to guide the plot in the right direction. But here is where the trap comes in: To obtain the SDE, the plot has to go in a specific way, something no looper will ever fail to replicate. But that will only ever bring them back into a never ending number of stages until they inevitably fail and have to loop again. But to "defy" the trials, you would probably have to completely derail the plot at the earliest possible opportunity. For example, by giving the "All-mothers Wrath" necklace to Belamouranthe, the way Adam is planning. Of course, none of the "intended" loopers would ever dare try that, as that would probably lock them out of obtaining the Eye again. Now that I think about it, that's probably also why the Relic saving function works the way it does. After all, if you could save a Relic while it is equipped, it would no longer be necessary to re-obtain the SDE every loop, letting the loopers experiment more freely. But Adam? It's not just that he CAN experiment. He HAS to experiment with his loops, thanks to the fact that every loop is different.

Jeanean

Adam being "Humanities last chance" I completely agree, though for slightly different reasons. For the Universes without Loopers, I agree that he will probably start "creating" them. But for those that already have them, I think he will be the one to either replace them with more qualified "personell" if they are too far gone like Morrigan, or if they are still fine, then he will guide them onto the right path. After all, it seems like the "intended" Loopers are VERY prone to fall into the trap of the Self-Devouring Eye. They loop again and again, getting stronger each time as they engage with an (probably) endless number of permanent upgrade mechanics, secrets, quests, achievements, etc. Sure, they get stronger each loop, but they will always make sure that they can loop again, making them unwilling to take risks and "defy" the trials the way they need to to clear them.

Throh_goblin Lord

Ive heard good thins about it, never got into myself though

Kristoffer Pauly

It was actually Elder Scrolls Online, it was a really small close-knit community on the NA server

Throh_goblin Lord

Little raw of a question, but. Was it WoW?

Victor Cavalcanti

Even without Emelia, he can get first hand information on any stage, the orb should be his LAST priority.

Zyrotot

TFTC

Joshua landry

Thanks for the chapter

Barkeep

Sorry about your friends author sama. 07

Tftc, on the note of predictions going to be a bit bold and predict that Adam is the last chance for humanity in each of the universes he loops too, what I mean by this is that without his intervention either the current loopers fail to loop again or there was never a looper in the first place. Whilst there are other possibilities on how the looping works feel as though this is the most satisfying theory atm.
