Alright, fixed it <.<

Kristoffer Pauly

@MiffedBeatle oh fuck <.< you're right! One moment, I shall do some editing!

Jeanean

I just realized that the answer for the next Luck threshold (where nothing below rare appears) has already been answered. It has to be at 25 luck or higher, otherwise there would not be a point to list it as an effect of the Lucky Bracelet (the Fools starting Relic) which gives the player 25 Luck.

Amosz

Now you have to edit that he got Dodge again in new 4 option, and also show 3 other options that he was offered but weren't shown

the ice man

So all he has to do is keep the score points high and defeat hidden boss's? So he can get weapon upgrades and additional weapon upgreads

MiffedBeatle

So apologies for this but the change to buy the luck and dodge at the same time seems to contradict chapter 2: "If you purchase one, the options are scrambled, and four new options will appear. If you don’t like the options you see currently, you can use a Reroll to scramble them.”, love the story btw

Kristoffer Pauly

@Jeanean, it's okay, I kept it as Luck and made him pick it thanks to what you and others wrote.

MiffedBeatle

Yup I do agree with the get stronger now to snowball, though that might not make the most compelling story at this point. On the note of the town upgrades though wasn't it mentioned that buying an upgrade in town causes the upgrades to randomise (in an early chapter), if so wouldn't be able to guarantee both and there is a potential opportunity cost there

Jeanean

@Dosei I mean, if you don't want him to upgrade his luck for some reason at this point in time, you can always just switch the upgrade with one of the "useless" ones like bleed.

Jeanean

@MiffedBeatle Immediate power over future growth I can understand depending on the circumstances. And this is EXACTLY such a circumstance. He doesn't have to lose out on the dodge for the Luck after all. Its just 300 points less invested into Luvicidix upgrades which are much more long term. Sure, I've been arguing myself quite a bit that he should invest more into future runs, but thanks to his knowledge from looping, he is almost guaranteed to get past stage two, and I assume Stage three as well. As such, for full efficiency, he should invest everything into immediate power early in the loop to maximize his point gains in each stage and start snowballing. Later in the run when he starts flagging and it gets harder to keep up with the curve, thats when he will want to invest more in Luvi's shop. The difficult part to this is of course finding the right moment to switch from investing into immediate gains to future potential, so that he can maximize both. (Of course, this is the kind of forward thinking we can't expect of him yet. Even if he knows for a fact that he won't survive the next Stage, investing ALL his points into the next loop is probably something he would consider as "giving up" on the current loop.)

Kristoffer Pauly

I'll agree that this blip might've been because i finished that last part around 2am <.< I'm about to go through and give it an editing pass and see how I feel about him making that change or at least justifying not picking it better. Thank you everyone for the feedback!

MiffedBeatle

I can see a world where Adam does prioritise more immediate power here over potential later power, since he did struggle a bit in stage 2 last time and we are likely looking at a stronger boss on top, but I agree that I can't see why the dodge bonus is that immediate power increase that would justify not going for luck

Zyrotot

TFTC

Rageflare

Absolutely. He should have realized by now how broken Luck is. It has a snowball effect on everything due to getting much better rewards which translates to much higher progress.

Amosz

I agree with you

Jeanean

Thanks for the chapter! I... do not understand Adam's decision making process... Not spending points on Relics makes a lot of sense. Spending points on Weapon and General upgrades makes sense. Not spending points on re-rolling also makes sense. As does investing whats left in Luvicidix. But why the hell does he completely ignore the Luck upgrade? He JUST realized how powerful even just 5 points of luck are. Even if another two won't mean that everything becomes a minimum of rare, it WILL mean a higher chances of rare upgrades and Relics appearing. The only downside, as he noticed himself, would be that he could potentially lock himself out of lower rarity relics. But even in the unlikely case that he manages to get THAT much luck, even that would not actually be a disadvantage in this run! I mean, he is planning to forego Relics, unless he finds a particularly well fitting one. That means higher rarity Relics simply mean more points for Weapon and General Upgrades. Most importantly, Upgrades until now have only ever gotten stronger with higher grades. With the way things scale in this system, so long as the two extra points of luck push him over the edge that he either gets a rare instead of uncommon Upgrade twice, or an Epic Relic instead of a Rare Relic, he would have made up for the price of the Luck Upgrade. And after that, he would only profit further. There have been a few situations where I thought "my GOD is he stupid!" but in the context of the story and his situation, making that particular decision made sense. But in this case, just completely ignoring the Luck upgrade like that, makes no sense in any way whatsoever. Especially since he JUST realized how useful luck is. Please have him take the Upgrade, or at least have him think about it and give a good reason. (Being worried that he would only get Epics with dangerous downsides is NOT a good reason when he isn't planning to use Relics much anyways in this run.)
