I'm thinking that's probably an upgrade tied to the Termite player-house-builder denizen that he can buy in a much later loop, since it would likely cost a lot

Jeanean

Sure, but that would require quite a lot of slots to get all the cores across. And that is just the first quest out of probably one for every Stage, of which we still don't know how many there actually are. I would assume an absolute minimum of twenty, though that feels a little low. And I doubt it will be the classic 100, else this story will simply never end with how in depth you seem to want to go with every loop and stage. ... Then again... Its called the Trials of Defiance, and the goal is to be "defiant". So maybe the Stage don't actually have an "end" at all, and the only way to end the trial is by, well, defying it and the System in some way. Maybe find a way to distort the "plot" of the stages until they simply can't continue on? Or maybe by finding a way to completely break the System with a combination of high rarity relics, similar to how Adam killed Shitbox? It would explain why the Self-devouring Eye Relic is such a trap. The "intended" Loopers will simply get stuck on finding the optimal route that allows them to keep looping, which they then endlessly optimize. Meanwhile, what they should be doing to end the Trials is deviate from their path and experiment. On a different note: If Adam cracks the game and wins, he would probably be able to return that version of Earth to the way it has been, or at least something similar? But what happens when he finally dies of old age? I mean, even if the System takes away all powers participants earned in the Trials once they are over, Adam's looping ability is not some external power, but bound to his Soul. Wouldn't he just die of old age, only to return to the begin of the Trial in yet another Version of reality?

Quest progress won't, but he could utilise Relic Saving to set himself up to beat the quest as soon as he loops back

Damn, I really thought the slime glove would solve the problem with the fool. I'm glad it wasn't that easy tho lol. Also really refreshing that Adam immediately realizes the potential of the fool, instead of being on some dumb shit.

I had hoped I could keep the tree and that it could just getting stronger with every stage he finishes across loops. But now I am not sure that is how it works.

Jeanean

Also, the biggest question, since the companions like Slime are earned based on achievements which can be earned across multiple loops, they will now always reappear. But will their memory be maintained? Probably not. More importantly though, will Quest progress be maintained?

Jeanean

Damn, the Relic saving option is a lot less useful than I thought... Just the fact that anything he saves for the next run can't be used in the current one is a huge downside. Or at least it is with his style of looping. A person that loops as intended can easily choose a Relic to save that would perfectly fit for one of the weapons the know they will have available to chose from. But for Adam? Anything to specific leaves him with a large chance that he simply won't have a fitting weapon available, but anything that general enough to fit into any build, and good enough to be worth saving, is probably also something he will want to use in his current run.
