It seems to me, too, that if Alice had wanted the kitten in limbo, it would have happened a long time ago... So she really needs something else... ;-)

Holy crap I was right about limbo! I thought it was a hair-brained theory 30 pages ago, but I was right! It really was the difference between a conscious being and living sex toy. And hurray for Alice to reveal that she's trying to stop Ginger from going there. She does care! Or at least, she cares enough about preserving a functioning brain. Sorry, I just feel very vindicated right now.
