How many? 2? 10? 77? I don't have the answer to that question. However, the kitten's eyes clearly indicate that this number would be greater than one.
It looks like Alice even had to hold the kitten's hands so he couldn't touch himself, because otherwise the results of the experiment might not be correct!
Well, what can you do? Alice needs to get some data, and she won't rest until she gets it! That's the way of science!
