🕑 Added 2023-02-01 00:25:41 +0000 UTCWhat’s up everyone?! I know it’s been really quiet in here, but we’ve still been hard at work. At first we wanted to surprise you all, but I’ve been reading this book called “Show Your Work” by Austin Kleon and it was really insightful. We decided to make Pridelands into an immersive comic containing 3 elements: Illustration, Animation, and Voice Acting. You would read the panel like a normal comic book, but there will also be a voice actor delivering a less abbreviated version of the lines. Each issue would contain between 5-15 pages or panels including at least one animated panel.
This way you can get the feeling of an animated series without the thousands (almost millions) of dollars required for animation. Right now we are figuring out what is sustainable. As much as we want each panel to be a masterpiece, the volume of comic book panels is NO JOKE. Especially with the amount of script written by Ashlea. We were thinking either black and white, black and white with shadows or full color/ no shadows.

I love comics so I love the idea… I’ll miss the colors but option 2 will still get the job done and set the tone in my opinion. SN.. are y’all still looking for voice actors?

Honestly, if money was the issue I would say stick with the shawdowing effect at the least. Color would be dope, but I think the shadowing effect woudl give you the best bang for your buck. Especially considering adding in the voice acting.

Personally I’m not a fan of comics, but whatever is your budget rage is good for me. And also will we be able to buy these comic as well?

I actually LOVE the idea of making this an immersive comic, it kinda reminds me of a WEBTOON and those are so much fun to read. As for the style, as much as I like the colour of number 3 I understand why number 2 or even 1 would be easier maintenance wise. maybe a mix of 2 and 3 where some of the more important/dramatic panels are in colour?
Bravo! This my friend is good thinking, when lacking the budget of a big corporation you get creative for a unique experience. I look forward to more mastermind work ((and potentially contributing 🤫))
Love this idea! Definitely want the color option though! The richness the color provides will make the panels pop in my opinion!
