Simba sits across from Detective Kerchak in his office. Kerchak looks stern, impatient as he hears Simba out. He sits on his desk, and rolls up his sleeve. Simba sits in a chair across from him, looking disheveled and upset.
SIMBA
I’m telling you something’s not right.
Kerchak sighs, not convinced.
KERCHAK
Look kid, I’m not a traffic cop. Idon’t know how I can help you. Your dad had an accident. That’s not my department.
Simba stands up assertively.
SIMBA
Look at my Uncle Scar. My dad wouldn’t just walk into a car.
KERCHAK
My investigation into your family does not include a car, kid.
Simba looks shocked.
SIMBA
You’re investigating my family? Why?
Kerchak stares at him, but says nothing else.
