NSFW Patreon accounts can now accept PayPal for pledges!
🕑 Added 2016-07-13 07:54:24 +0000 UTC So for all of you who were having to pledge with your card, well, now you can use PayPal if you so want to! Spread the word, this effect is in change now, it's not a trick or anything like that, it's not going to hurt your PayPal account, both Patreon and PayPal are up for it and I've had this personally confirmed to me by a Patreon rep that I talk to about such stuff, so yeah!Actual game update post will be within the next 24 hours, sorry for making this its own post, but this is pretty big news!

I managed it. After deleting the old pledge and changing it to Paypal I am now able to access the posts since august 1st.

The tl;dr is that the REAL reason PayPal and a lot of other providers don't like to fuck with adult stuff is because of chargebacks. Ex. people paying for a porn site subscription and then instantly declaring to their bank that it was an accidental charge, which screws over the porn company and screws over the credit card providers, who just spent money to process that transaction, which costs them all money/time for no gain. However, with Patreon's subscription setup, there is no way to do charge backs for the most part because of how the funds are taken (since you have ample time to cancel, and some other in-site stuff I'm not entirely sure of). Whatever this method is, it's enough that Patreon has a practically nonexistent rate of chargebacks, which was enough to get PayPal to sign on finally, feeling safe that they wouldn't get bombarded with chargebacks from NSFW Patreon accounts.
