Okay nvm, if Heath isn’t doing it then shit Troy might as well. That audition scene was superb man 🙏🏾

next chapter coming today?

BaldRhaegar

Damn that was good!

David Karlsson

Maybe but what's to take inspiration from? His interpretation of the role is the best in recent years

Heather Serra

I just want to say, that I want to see Troy do something different than Heath in the Joker role, otherwise what’s even the point of changing actors

NayTheArtist 1

Valid

James Harrold

This seems like really niche knowledge

NayTheArtist 1

Hey, I don’t know if you’re going to go in the world of fighting route. But we’re getting closer to a 2009 it’d be awesome if Troy saved or gave a hint to Mike Tyson about his little daughter accident that killed her just when she was four.

Jarod lane

Ok wasn’t the biggest fan of the Joker idea but you did that audition so cool. I hope the audition tape gets leaked at some point after the release of the movie

Jarod lane

Literally just go with Heath

James Harrold

Please don't change the hospital demolition scene please, the problem is I think it's kinda improvised because there was a delay on the pyrotechnics or some other mistake that was made so Heath improvised the checking the remote. So maybe Troy pitches this?

TheLazyWarrior

@Ant1h3ld, I get it. It was a joke

Ant1h3ld

Umm, dear Author, I don't think people complain when you point out the changes, they complain when you rehash the original movie without the changes ^^

Ant1h3ld

I am not a big fan of superhero Movies either, but Nolan's trilogy is different because it's not the usual Marvel or DCU (lol) slop. It came before that and is both an amazing piece of cinema and (unfortunately) the reason all DC Directors are convinced that DC/Batman *has* to be extremely dark and gritty, because the trilogy is so good.

David Karlsson

The clown makeup should help with that

James Harrold

Plus I think I remember the set was super chill during filming for The Dark Knight, really relaxed. So I hope Troy is able to be the same.

Galenorla

I get that, her choosing Harvey and then dying isn't the issue. It's just that we never get to see WHY Bruce never gets over her. We simply get told, or are forced to infer it.

Ju

Rachel was always meant to show how Bruce/Bat doesn't always win.

Sebastian Lachs

The script is perfection, though yeah, Maggie Gyllenhaal really did not shine in that role. Katie Holmes was weaker than her, but Maggie couldn't stretch at all in the role.

Sebastian Lachs

You can watch the Dark Knight as a psychological thriller. You have the vigilante detective with an unlimited budget go up against a chaos junkie who enjoys doing social experiments on cities. It's a brilliantly demented film that because of Heath Ledger's death, makes for an incredible stand alone movie. It is a genuinely good thriller and tragedy.

TheLazyWarrior

Then there's also the fact that if I go around pointing out each minor change in the movie (as I did with Order of the Phoenix) someone will leave a long rant in comments about how the chapter was bad. Lol.

TheLazyWarrior

It's not about built, it's about perception. If you remember Nolan's conversation with Troy, he has seen all of Troy's movies, and he finds it difficult to associate Troy with this role because of that. So he's justifying not casting him by saying that he's young.

James Harrold

Troy would have nothing do with that, that would be determined at the editing stage and him trying to have anything to do with the editing on a project he isn't producing will not go over well. For this project Troy can really only to discuss his idea's for his character without coming a cross as a diva.

TheLazyWarrior

I had planned for him to do this film since the beginning. That's why Heath Ledger/Joaquin Phoenix won Oscars so people won't feel bad about taking away their moment. My original plan was that Troy would do the TV show [The Night Of] with all its adult scenes, causing problem with WB. Then Troy would negotiate to do this film in exchange for them letting him do the TV show uninterrupted. But readers didn't want that, so I tweaked the story a little. Also, The Dark Knight is not a normal superhero film. It is too good. You should watch it if you haven't.

James Harrold

Plus I don't think the joker is that "built" I always thought of him as having like a regular fit look kinda like a swimmer/runner maybe. The makeup also would help with him looking young. I always thought the Joker kinda had a timeless/undeterminable age quality as well.

James Harrold

Another positive is Troy wouldn't have the same problems that Heath had as he had suffered from insomnia for a fairly long time before doing The Dark knight I think.

Benoit Valtin

I don't even understand why his age is a problem, it helps not to take him seriously at first before he loses his cool on screen.

Rafael

I'm not that big of a fan of this idea, I guess I never understood the excitement over hero movies, but I love how you pulled this idea out of seemingly nowhere, I didn't see it in any of the comments.

Galenorla

Great isn't the same as perfect. For example, the scene where batman is about to hit joker with his bike; we don't really get to feel the full weight of batman's choice to turn aside at the last moment. The audience isn't really shown how badly Bruce wants to kill him in that moment since we don't see his face. A simple addition of one or two close up shots showing Bruce's anger would make the scene perfect.

TheLazyWarrior

Revised script? It is one of the greatest script of the 21st century. I don't think I can make it better.

Galenorla

Can you replace Rachel in the dark knight too? The original actress is okay, but hardly believable that Bruce Wayne would get so hung up on her. We never really get to see what makes her different in the film, and a revised script or a better actress might help.

hz

Having Troy as the Joker, one of the most iconic roles of the last 20 years........GENIUS

James Harrold

All I can say is YES YES YES!!!!!!!! Great chapter.

Golasso

Dam. I have goosebumps. Heather was legendary in the role... but this is Troys era.
