Murdoch that greedy cockroach. Please expose the hacking scandal. Whatever studio he buys I hope he renames or adds his own company name to just how Amazon has done with MGM by bricking Amazon-MGM

I agree with @R, but I’m Indian, so I have to represent my country — locking down the supply chain is critical. This is the perfect time to invest in India; it feels like 2008 all over again. The political landscape here is going to shift soon, and by 2014, foreign investment will be much easier. That’s why now is the time to start laying the groundwork. I like the direction you’re taking with the Sony plan, and here’s how it can also be used to put sustained pressure on Fox. The X-Men rights historically never had a fixed expiry — Fox kept them as long as they produced films — so waiting isn’t the answer. The real play is to make their position unprofitable and strategically unsustainable until they hand them over. Release Marvel movies under Sony on the exact same dates Fox launches their X-Men films. Outperform them so consistently that their returns shrink year after year. Partner with Fox’s largest advertisers and offer them better, bundled deals across your films, streaming, and social platforms. Undercut Fox’s ad appeal by emphasizing declining ratings and weaker demographics. Schedule your biggest releases, celebrity appearances, or major news drops to directly overlap with Fox’s tentpole premieres or broadcasts. Steal their spotlight until they can’t draw the same crowd. If Fox breaches contracts, infringes IP, or makes legal missteps, hit them with well-founded, high-profile lawsuits. Even if they win some, the drain on time, money, and morale will be constant. Lock in exclusivity deals with theater chains, streaming platforms, or key international distributors that Fox depends on. Force them into worse terms and fewer options. If Troy acquires or creates a social media platform, he instantly gains the power to counter Fox where it’s strongest — narrative influence. He wouldn’t need to buy a news channel. A platform or even a single high-credibility account branded simply as “News” could compile reporting from multiple credible sources, present it factually, or show side-by-side left-, right-, and center-leaning perspectives. Done consistently, this would steadily erode Fox’s media influence. There’s a pattern that shows up with founder experience. First-time founders build a business on product. If the pitch is “this pen writes, this pencil erases,” and it’s all about the features, you can usually tell it’s their first venture. They believe quality alone will win. Second-time founders focus on distribution. They know a great product is meaningless if you can’t get it into the customer’s hands. Third-time founders build an ecosystem — combining product and distribution into a self-reinforcing platform. The BlackBerry vs. iPhone story is the perfect case study. In 2007, BlackBerry was the market leader: secure devices, instant push email, and BlackBerry Messenger — encrypted, feature-rich messaging that was years ahead of WhatsApp or Telegram. On paper, it was technologically superior to the first iPhone in speed, battery life, and security. But Steve Jobs didn’t just launch a phone — he launched an ecosystem. Exclusive distribution through AT\&T, unmatched retail presence, and the App Store gave Apple reach and platform stickiness BlackBerry couldn’t match. BlackBerry had the better device on some fronts; Apple had the two things that actually decide the market — distribution and an ecosystem. Troy can apply the same lesson: control Sony’s creative output, lock down the supply chain and global distribution, and build an information ecosystem that shapes public perception. Combine that with aggressive competition, advertiser realignment, event hijacking, legal warfare, and distribution lockouts, and Fox’s position won’t just weaken — it will collapse. Murdoch will be left with no winning move.
