Sooney's revenge
🕑 Added 2023-08-01 08:00:20 +0000 UTCHeys, hope everyone's well.... Better than Ink's going to be after Sooney catches her.... Originally this 'fight,' was going to take place within the 3rd area. Inky was going to be the mini boss similar to Raisins and Sproutette. But the space in which I was going to place her was tight and limiting and I really wanted to do something special here, so I've gone ahead and began creating an extension to the Mushroom area. It has the same look and theme as the third area, although it's a whole new scene with tight paths running through it. great for a chase.
After a cutscene, Inky will begin running away, at which point the player will have to chase her down, catch her, 'Interrogate,' she'll escape and repeat.
Being so close to the end I really wanted this fight to be something special. Originally It was going to be a mud fight within the rain and lightning, but it just didn't have enough of a twist for me (I might keep the rain and lightening.) Now, since Sooney has been away from the crystal for so long and being oversex'd because of it, this interaction will feel more like a role reversal to what the player is used to and hopefully build up a sorta edge to Sooney, which she'll need for the next Crimson Queen fight, that will happen right after this scene.
The intro cutscene's done, the mechanics for inky running around the stage is done. Half the plants have been planted, so I'll be getting started on the fight animations now. Next week I'll include a few of those in the post.
