It might be because I have a stir bar at the bottom (which can't be seen in this shot). It is interesting that it was almost enitrely bottom up though

Why does it crystallize from the bottom up? Wouldn't the bottom be warmer, as that's where the heating mantle was?

Yeah it looks very very faint though. In the next step it will all go away though.

salicylic acid recrystallization looks really nice. It still looks a bit pink, so the dye is really persistent.
