First things first, the big announcement!
Audiobook launches August 4th!
If you've been looking forward to that, the wait is nearly over! I've been quiet about it because I'm new to everything about contracts and NDA's and whatnot, but now that it's getting closer I can actually talk about it.
As for current story news, the next chapter is a Morgan chapter, and the next main arc is morgan getting wings and then rejoining Dana and the skyship, for some shenanigans at the silent city!
which leads me to the question of status sheets!
now, morgan's status sheet quickly grew way out of proportion, which was kinda necessary for character growth and stuff at the beginning. but it pads the word counts on chapters hugely now, and posting her status as a background update feels cheezy and cheap. it also leads me down very convoluted rabbit holes and i'm not a calculator, so i make mistakes and get called out on them.
i'm probably going to keep posting her status sheet as a google sheets page here for you guys, but i don't know that i'm gonna go through the effort of perfecting it for Royal Road and scribblehub. they're far more critical and mean about mistakes, and you guys are the ones who actually support the story. I mainly keep her status sheet updated as an internal reference at this point, so unless you guys have some specific complaints i'll just keep that kinda thing in-house for patrons only.

e.g.: she gets stung by 1000 bees or something and gains "Poison resistance - 2" so she rolls her eyes and wonders how a normal person gains poison resistance without dying.

You could also just have her note the changes instead of reading the full descriptions. "Oh, my "Whateverthatskillis" leveled up by two! Or maybe sarcastic advances get an eyeroll and things she wants get her excited about her progress - to keep it fresh instead of droning on about things we no longer are concerned with.

I'd also recommend having the sheet at the end of the book, and only showing updated stats. Like when she gains skill levels, or adds to abilities. That'll hugely cut down on "Cut-and-Paste Spam". That'll also help later on with Narrators - they wont have to dictate the whole sheet, and we get the pertinent information in a little snippet rather than the entire sheet. I mean, her name doesn't ever change , so why re-show/dictate that portion? We know who she is by that point hopefully.

they haven't provided me with any info on preorders or anything like that. they also didn't mention preorders, and as it's my first book they may simply not do that. i'll fire off an email and if i learn anything new i'll let you know:)

I’ve seen a few other authors who hide the sub-sections, just leaving the section titles and a “show” button.
