It’s important to note that at this point in the story, Jinshi is the crown prince. However, there are currently two working theories as to whether he is the Emperor’s younger brother or the Emperor’s son. In an official capacity, he’s known as the imperial younger brother, son of the previous emperor and the empress dowager. However, there is also the possibility that he’s the son of the current emperor and concubine Ah Duo and was then swapped with the other child that was born at the same time and that baby was the one that Ah Duo’s head lady in waiting accidentally killed. (I tend to believe the second possibility)
