Concept Art #1 | Personal Project "The Acolyte" [working title]
🕑 Added 2025-02-12 19:00:04 +0000 UTCA bit of a special post because this one will be the first of hopefully many posts regarding my original webcomic/graphic novel I'm currently in the mids of working on.

We live in a world that knows Läufer.
They are strange creatures, an echo of the gods who once walked this earth.
Some are as tall as a mountain, others smaller than a hand. Driven by holy Lupid of the gods, they now walk silently in the gods’ place, in their image to remind us of them.
What we know, we know from experience, observation, and tradition. Sometimes the Läufer can even tell us about themselves if you just listen carefully. In the end, however, their true purpose has dispersed into the wind of time.
As a Tempelläufer, it is the task of each of us to keep the old rites alive and to carry on the gods’ gifted favor so that the land can grow and prosper.
Our rites have existed for countless generations, constant and unchanged. The Genesis will reveal to you what role you must fulfill as a guardian over the ancient ways. Through this strenuous journey of incredible importance, be open to the worries of this world and let them guide you. But also remember: It is important never to stray too far from the path. No one knows what would happen if the old laws were defiled by the hubris of the present.
And when you have done your part, when you have learned and come to understand, return to us. Not as an acolyte, but a priestess.

To start things of nice and slowly I wanted to share the first round of concept sketches I did for this universe quite a while ago - almost three years ago.

Thank you Rute!!! This is going to be my most ambitious project I've done so far, so while it still will take a fair while to develop further and flesh out to actually start, I'm already highly looking forward to it!

That makes me really happy to hear already, thank you Deja! Building your own world is truly another beast compared to going a little easier with borrowing from other peoples hard work when it comes to fanart ;)
