Soft Drop update + poll 🌸
🕑 Added 2025-06-02 15:10:49 +0000 UTCThis is a post for people who are interested in how Soft Drop (NSFW) is progressing. So, I've managed to accomplish some of the things I mentioned in the previous devlog. Such as:
1. I re-read all the chapters and edited them to make Are We Engaged? and Soft Drop lore/history the same. The idea of the dome didn't really start to form in my mind until chapter 13 of Soft Drop, and so there were things before that chapter that didn't really make sense. I'm not sure if I got everything, but editing text is really my kryptonite; I am very not good at it (as long time patrons know :p). I also removed some parts that I just didn't like when I re-read it. Also DANG Soft Drop is kind of long, huh?
2. I added a calendar date at the top of chapters to make it a little easier to follow when in the timeline each of the chapters occurs. A lot of the chapters happen on the same day so it can be a little confusing to keep track of.
3. I re-added the mini-game to chapter 6! This took WAY LONGER than I expected, and I had to literally go into the game engine and export the game again, but past me had, like, edited the game file to experiment with something else, and so I had to revert a lot of things. Augh, I'm a dumdum sometimes. Don't be like me: make copies of things when you want to experiment with new ideas in a finished project, or just put it in a GitHub repository. Anyway, that's why it looks a lil different.
4. Okay, and now for the thing I need your help with. I can't decide if it's better to just have the full chapter on one page, or if I should split up chapters into multiple pages. Visualization below:
Pros of all on one page: it is all in one page (lol), you don't have to click to go to the next page, it is more seamless, is easier to implement
Pros of multiple pages: It splits long chapters up into more bite-sized portions, could help you not lose your place better, is how it was on the old website
Please help me choose!

If you wind up with multiple pages, can you have a link for one page too? I'm not sure how simple it would be to do that, though.

yay soft drop! I like the multiple pages as it's easier to keep track of and also if you don't fully release entire chapters at once it's easier to see what's new and what's not
