ADVENTURE!
I don't think of this as a mark against Ellen's game master skills. She's on the spot, focused on the characters, and basically had no time to come up with her own story.
Granted, I highly doubt that was a chicken in the original adventure guidelines, so we'll see how this whole "minor substitution" thing goes.

Any player worth thier dice bag wants the GM to succeed just as any GM worth thier screen wants the player characters to succeed regardless of what they may think of each-other out of game. RPGs are a group effort and everyone should make the most of it. This is especially true when newbie GMs and Players are in the game; you don't want to chase the players away and there are never enough GMs to go around.

It could be worse. There's a video game called "Armed and Dangerous", and one mission involves rescuing a sheep...

Yes. Also, the dragon's really annoyed at having lost a plumage contest to a chicken.

I see Ellen has already mastered a critical GMing skill: maintaining gravitas and dignity behind the screen when saying something completely ridiculous.

First question: *what* prizes? Were they for magnificent plumage or appearance, or is it a fighting chicken who has gone to challenge the local dragon?

"Out of my way! I'm going to get that c*ck even if it kills me!"
AstroChaos
That's clucked up man...

If it's a male, there are way too many opportunities for double entendres. "The mayor needs c*ck!" "That monster's in the way; it's c*ck-blocking us!" It almost makes me wish the hammers were still a thing.
Seems like a reasonable hook. I'd play that game.

With Rich in the party? Sorry, I'm hoping it's a Cucco.
Rodford E. Smith
A Plymouth Barred Rock rooster?
Stephen Gilberg
Hope it's not a Cucco.
