I had a similar thought about the top one. That it is Susan roleplaying as Rhoda as a way to manage "things" and/or sorting out her feelings about them. Since it is a game it's unlikely to be intended to go further than handholding or maybe some light kissing anyway. But perhaps similar to your thoughts, it would be a way for Susan to work her way past some things that she might want to get past, since she has shown interest in having romantic partners and being able to enjoy and benefit from touching is usually beneficient for the relation due to humans in general being a very tactile species.

Now I'm picturing Susan fantasizing about Rhoda using her form and doing "things" with Catalina... to see what she thinks of it. I mean, if she finds people doing "things" sexy, but not her doing things... is it that she doesn't find herself sexy, or she doesn't want to be directly involved? This would be a logical thought exercise that doesn't involve questions about what you say to your still-surviving ancient ancestor given the sudden bereavement. I mean, it wouldn't necessarily be procrastinating processing that... it could be like a warm-up exercise.
