New Student Diane
🕑 Added 2017-12-31 00:07:39 +0000 UTC Poll Description - Nanase and Diane in martial arts clothing with Nanase helping a blushing Diane tie her belt rightIt's possible Diane is hoping to be taught more than Nanase is expecting...
For the record, I had some training in Hapkido as a kid, and tying a belt like that right is trickier than one might think. I used to leave my belts tied and simply tightened / loosened them as necessary, which... I never thought about it much before, but plenty of grown men do that with neck ties, don't they? Huh.
So long as I'm talking about Hapkido, I used to make my way back and forth across the mat by doing flips. Not, like, super cool, landing on your feet flips like you'd see in a ninja movie, but the sort of flips you learned to do when thrown by an opponent and such. Sort of neat, but less impressive.
That move is still hidden in my muscle memory somewhere, because it saved me once when I slipped on some ice. I just sort of did it on reflex instead of landing face first. Still wasn't exactly a pleasant moment, but it was a relatively soft landing.

Now I’m curious what Nanase’s reaction would be if the obvious wardrobe malfunction happened in front of an entire class?

Yeah, the founder was a conscientious objector in Japan in WWII. Serious hard core guy. They're supposed to be about being friendly and engaging and avoiding injury so sorry it didn't work out! My spouse loves it.

You say that as if she normally doesn't. ;)

Nanase might like turning heads.

I don't think I ever saw a female martial artist without a T-shirt under their gi top, actually.

Aikido. Oh the landings. I got to be the 'aggressor' or 'receiver' so much. Cause I was bigger. Of course part of the discipline wasn't just being the defender, it was recovering from the defender's putting you off balance etc. I really didn't enjoy it. I didn't hate it. But it wasn't one of the cool martial arts. Though man, when the Judo guys across the street came over... poor guys.

I once tripped over a curb, coming out of a computer store, and managed a perfect roll. Didn't harm the equipment, nor flash the passersby. But *that* was when I was younger.

Well this is a pleasant site. :)

Huh, I did Hapkido as well. Years and years ago, can only remember a couple of the joint locks and the basics but fat chance I'd be able to use them properly these days.

They're cute and you're cute!
My husband does that with his ties. He doesn't know how to tie a Windsor knot, but I do. So I tie them for him, initially

Hey, Nanase, you forgot your sports bra. I think.

Knowing that Diane actually has a thing for Nanase makes this even better. :D

Tying the belt is normally just a basic reef-knot. Wrap the belt around yourself. Left end over right, under everything. Right end folds back, other end goes over 1 layer & through the loop. Pull tight. There are more complicated knots you can use if you want (e.g. a flat/hexagonal knot more secure against pulling from movements or throws/grabs) but the basic knot is usually fine for a mukyū.
Dan, the more you say about your life I'm convinced you are actually me.

Someone might follow Diane’s eye line straight down Nanase’s top

My face is currently stuck in the "8D" expression.
