I love that they also don't go to the other end of the spectrum with winry, making her this mary sue character that's just perfect and ends up feeling more like a plot device (a lot of that in modern media unfortunately :/). She's great, she's a genius, but she still has a lot to learn. She may be an automail prodigy alright, she ain't even a fully grown woman and her work is amazing, but dominic tells her that her automail is too heavy, and she still wants to learn from him. As already stated, amazing character writing which would be glossed over in other shows for any character other than the protagonists.
