You can split the egg to objects, then instead of the global tab - you will need to go to the object tab and change the order that the eggs print in - you will want to pull STL2 up to the top to be first in order, that way your gradient will switch nicely between the two eggs. There may be other ways, but this guaranteed it printed perfectly each time.

Paula

If anyone else is looking through this for answers if they are having problems - I too was having issues with the top of the inside of the egg - as soon as I added some tree supports - the eggs all started printing beautifully.

Tracy Francis

I wouldnt go lower than 40%!

Tami Gardner

how small can these shrink?

Watkins 3D Creations

we tried these several times the top and bottom do not seem to line up ever

Joe

I recommend a couple strap wrenches. They're super helpful to have around the house. https://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-Strap-Wrench-5-Ribbed/dp/B012RPKM8A

Tracy Francis

Both!

JustADuck33

are these eggs for full size adults or for full size babies?

Sierra Fain

I am printing the Mystery egg at scale size 70.22 size of the top and bottom together and once I put them together me and my husband can't get the egg apart

Jazzy Plz

nope!

hognosesnakes

do these eggs require supports?

Kriscee

Just FYI, the 100% Crystal Dragon fits nicely in an 85% Dragon Scale Egg. I printed one of these eggs at 100% originally given the 1:1 recommendation (I thought this applied to all dragons but maybe just the baby dragons?) but it's far too big.

Geek and Artsy

does anyone know what size for different dragons would fit 60% eggs? they're so large but i still keep being juuuust unable to fit dragons in them, especially any with wings.

Spryguy

Any chance you can make the mystery egg smaller to match the other smaller eggs. when i try to scale it down to match to put a tadling in the walls are soo thin.

Jake ilovestuffforreal

OK so I finally made some eggs and this is my sizing recommendations for ADULT gemstone dragons. First off, I made one at 100 percent (huge) idk what that's for, but I can easily fit 2 if not 3, 25" long full size gemstone dragons in it. 80 percent size will hold one dragon, but it's extremely tight fit, and requires some neat folding to get it in there. I'VE LANDED WITH 85 PERCENT EGG TO BE THE CORRECT SIZE FOR A 100 PERCENT 25" ADULT GEMSTONE DRAGON

Jazzy Plz

its based on scale. so if its a 70% baby, its a 70% egg, its 1:1

Misty Birkhimer

I have an 18-inch crystal dragon what size egg should I make for it?

Austin Anderson

On the crystal egg

Austin Anderson

When I print the separate files the top half of the egg has a defect on the top of the inside what should I do

Alisa Lytle

I'd love a separate top and bottom file so I can do transition prints that match with rainbow PLA. Please and thank you so much!

Chad Presson

This is what im wondering as well!

Jazzy Plz

cupcake boxes!

Jazzy

its likely part might have lifted while printing a little!

Judi

I printed the crystal egg, there is a small gap between the top and bottom. When put together.

Mike Wardlow

So I'm trying to print a bunch of these eggs out at about 70-80% scale to take to shows and sell, does anyone know of any cool windowed gift boxes or gable style handled boxes that are out there that fit these eggs?

Kyle Pena

I know it says baby dragons but will any dragon (without wings) fit if scaled to the egg size?

3DPrintalot

I'm still trying to figure it out as well so if anyone has a x1c profile for eggs or has the secret to print them, please share :)

Becca_Artorium

FYI everyone, I have successfully printed 60% baby dragons and 50% eggs and they fit. :)

Newfound3DPrints

Anyone have any advice for awful overhangs when doing the eggs? Tried my X1C, A1 and a1 mini but the bottom section of the bottom of the egg always comes out terrible due to overhang. Tried slowing for overhangs and also tried no cooling for the first few layers. Filament is calibrated and print beautifully otherwise

Robert Merrell

What layer settings did you use for this size. I would like to do this for my students at school

Becca_Artorium

FYI, I printed these at regular Easter egg hunt-size (25%) and they turned out great!

Becca_Artorium

I printed at 25% to use as eggs for hiding, and they turned out great!

Jazzy Plz

A tadling is around the size of a 50% baby drgon scale so that makes sense!

Miridarna

In case no one else has tried it, but people wanted to know: I'm SUPER easy fitting 100% tadlings inside of 60% eggs. I haven't tried scaling the eggs down further, but it looks like as low as 45% eggs should fit most (if not all) the 100% tadlings!

Josh Lieberman

as somebody who prints dragon eggs for a scavenger hunt at music festivals, this is literally so hype

Jazzy

We test everything from 60-100%, but it's a fairly simple shape so I imagine it can go down a bit. Being that the main goal was thinner walls however, you may see gaps if you go too small.

Melissa

How small can these go, percent wise?

Jazzy

100%

Revenant Raven

What size would these be for a regular full size dragon?

Jazzy

Tadlings are around the same size as a 50% baby

Andrea DeJong

what size eggs would fit a majority of tadlings?

Jazzy

usually tri and duals like a straight filament path and a good extruder! Sometimes tho they just be like that

Jazzy

There is one already!

Emily

You should do a baby Easter dragon too!

Jazzy

Not likely, the Rose Egg was more or less for fun.

Sarah Buckland

Does anyone know the trick to printing with dual or tri colored filament? It looks great when I print a dragon with it but when I do an egg I get stripes of different colors in random places.

Mike Sprague

will there be solid versions of the other eggs, like the rose one?

Jazzy Plz

the top is a bit of a bridge, would reocmmend checking those settings out

Sarah Buckland

Just printed the butterfly egg. Love it! But there was some filament that didn't stick well on the inside of the top of the egg. Does anyone know why? Did I print too fast? Thanks in advance.

MrsEllison

Just for those who want to know. I tested the aligned Mystery egg at 90% and got a 100% scale Dragon inside easily. The 100% Rose egg fit my 125% rose Dragon and a 75% scaled dragon fit in a 65% mystery egg. I know eggs are a big deal and saving filament is a huge plus. Hope this helps others out.

Morialkar

Sooo happy they look really nice! Any chance the advent calendar variant of the original scale egg will be updated as well?

Jazzy Plz

You shoudlnt need to no, thats ratehr strange! This egg is way less tight from the old style

Wade Cutshall

Kathryn McMurray

I think thats how they made them its too big for my plate . "the originals The eggs have been resized from the original eggs (Dragon Scale & Crystal) and are now Larger to match 100% Egg to 100% dragon. Thus, if you scale the eggs to 60% they can fit 60% baby dragons in them!"

Mark Mageau

What can these eggs be scaled down to? When I slice just the bottom of the Crystalized Egg it says it will take over a day to print. This can't be correct. Any idea of what is happening? Thanks in advance!

Andy's 3D

A heart eggs can be amazing tooβ€οΈπŸ™

Maury Rice

It would seem they have fixed that problem.

Melanie St Onge

Thank you so much! I printed a dragon scale egg at 150% in tri-filament and it turned out beautiful, but scales & colors didn't line up exactly, I was going to send a message to see if you could fix it, but now I don't have to! I just re-downloaded the updated file from Cults, thank you for your amazing work!!! I can't wait to make another set!

Michael Davis

Hi Tracy, PixelForge3D is selling your models on Etsy without and mention of Cinderwing. I thought this was just wrong.

Jazzy Plz

Yes!

Creighton Lance Carroll

Have the updated files been uploaded to MMF as well?

Jazzy Plz

Just re-download it from Cults!

T.J. Rusk

I bought the dragon scale egg back in November on cults. How do I go about getting the updated files?

Jazzy Plz

Please reach out via Discord Support tickets in the server, or email! I'll get ya fixed up

Jazzy Plz

If you read the post, that's already been done!

George Mikhail

Can the previous eggs made thinner as well? Thanks!

Mimi Sharon

I purchased the crystal egg off etsy before I became part of the patreon. How can I get the file that is updated?

Jazzy Plz

These were all printed and tested before release. I'd recommend checking your layerheights That being said I will check it out! EDIT: I cannot seem to re-create this. If anyone else has this issue please let us know!

Ashley Florack

When I try to slice the crystal egg "aligned" I'm getting the error "No layers were detected. You might want to repair your STL file or check their size or thickness and retry" Is that just me? Or are others getting the same error?

D3D Prints

Yay! Thank you so much for these

Donald Knepshield

Awesome!

Danita (Restored Faith3D)

Omg! I am SO EXCITED for this! Our customers have been asking for these!!

Gwendolyn Pomidor

So many eggs! I love them.

Jazzy Plz

It's all in the post. The eggs are made to scale 1 for 1 with the dragons. Please make sure you read the bulletpoints in the post!

Rebecca (LionMight)

LOVE Man I think I need my "keepers" collection space to grow.. I was also just thinking about the time and filament of those eggs today, so thank you!!

Levelbedded_XYZ

What dragons fit best in these? And can they scale ok?

Ryan Shields

THANK YOU!

Morgan Kotnik

These are EGGmazing!! Thank you!

Brion Goudreau

Thank you!! Love the previous eggs, but don’t love the time and amount of filament. These look perfect. Can’t wait to print!!

Patricia T.

Egg-cellent!!! πŸ₯š
