Holy Shaft | Dev Update Preview #1
🕑 Added 2025-07-22 00:11:52 +0000 UTCSo for the past month I've been working on a game about Angels, Elevators, and Spanking... Why you ask? Because no one else is doing it!
The best way to describe the game is that it is sort of an "Elevator Isekai" where each floor teleports you to a completely different world. Each floor gives you a set of choices to choose from and each choice is tracked and gives you points in one of the 3 stats seen below.
Each elevator run is about 10 floors which are randomly pulled from a pool of 25+ floors. Overall, the main goal of the game is to help the angel Elevana get a promotion by the end of the run and prove herself to the All-Mighty Administrator.
This game is still in the early stages, but I only plan to spend about another month or two on it since I want to be able to submit to some end-of-summer game jams.
As for Kana-Sensei [Day 5], some progress has been made but most of it has just been coding-related prepwork and it has been a bit difficult forcing myself through the monotonous tasks which is part of the reason why I decided to work on another short smaller-scoped game in the meantime.

Typical elevator music was too slow I found, and for some reason Synthwave seems to fit both the fast-paced nature of the game and has a heavenly vibe at the same time!

Me too, I enjoy that I can basically experiment and add any type of scene from any era or world in this game.

you really do find the most amazing soundtracks for your games, I love the music you're using here! Looking forward to it, your smaller games are very addictive and fun and this looks like a cute little game to add to the library of Kana-sensei games! Good luck!

Hmm, I do like the idea of having a demon spank one of the angels. I'll need to see what kind of character designs I can come up with for this one.

Since I can pretty much use any characters from any universe in this game, I do plan to include a good amount of the popular or current ones where possible.

hmm, seem like an interesting idea, looks like it has potential, and some good events. Personally, I have always wanted to see a good depiction of a Demon spanking an angel. It would be cool if Elevana was actually a demon riding the elevator attached to our soul, and by gaining enough power she spanks the Admin angel until she is granted angel status. obviously that's just my personal desire and you will do what you please. I have enjoyed all of your games anyway so I know that it will end up good regardless.

Wonderful! A new spanking game and more times to get the great waifus spanked. I am happy to see you exploring and adding in new flavor as well as telling us the current state of Kana Day 5 I cant wait to spank Marin and Yuki Suou! Anymore anime girls you can tease us with? Definitely love some of these ideas! I'm hoping to add a lot of different endings since each run will basically be RNG and only 10 floors. Maybe more if I find it needs tweaking. But scenes with the Administrator spanking Elevana and vice-versa? Guaranteed!

Had to refresh myself on Death Parade, but I suppose in a way the player is being judged as well. Might see if I can borrow any ideas by rewatching the series again.

It looks GREAT so far! I can already see a bunch of endings. 1. You succeed and get to have Elevana as your Waifu. 2. Too much wrath and too little of the other stats or at least too little compassion causes her to get re-positioned as a punishment demon. 3. You fail miserably super early on and the Administrator spanks you both. 4. You do so perfectly Elevana gets promoted over the Administrator whom gets punished for her own oversight.

I was wondering if it would be like a Death Parade style game. But from the trailer, it seems to just be chaotic fun.
