CakeMix : October 2023 Update

It's a zip file so just unzip it somewhere on your computer and then run one of the links in the folder to use Desktop or VR mode.
This update involved a huge refactor of the underlying code, to make things better for the present as well as future updates. There's a lot going on under the surface. Coming soon is sex positions, environments, more characters on screen, etc., and this refactor was done to make all that easier for me to add properly into upcoming builds.
Here's some of what's in this update:
- Quick Menu: Added a new Quick Menu system, which can be used by pressing the primary button on either controller. Just hold the button down, hover over what you want, and let go of the button. You can also move up and down, and to do that just keep the button pressed while hovering over the up and down arrows.
- Size Slider: If you go into Settings, there's a new slider there for choosing the default size range that new random characters will be created with. Set that how you like, and when you click "New" in the Creator, you'll see how it works.
- Auto Arm Spread: Added the ability to have arms automatically adjust to body size while editing in the Creator. If you don't like this option, you can turn it off in Settings, and then set arm spread yourself on the Body/Extras tab.
- Animation System: I've been working hard on the new pose/animation system, and you can see some of the results with the new Clothing stuff. This is the start of what's coming with animations, including all kinds of sexy poses and positions.
- Character Shaders: (Tech-speak ahead) - I replaced the old character skin, hair, and eye shaders with better ones, which are more robust and will allow for more variety. Things like metallic skin, emmisive skin lights, reflections, tessellation, etc. will be possible in future builds. That means being able to do things like the FLSM characters, for instance. There's also better gloss which you can see in the eyes, lips, and vulva.
- Character System: A ton of the Character system has been re-written, so it works more smoothly. Also, in future updates (coming soon!) there will be able to be multiple characters, including different genders and sexualities, which will all be more easily possible now due to this re-write.
- Clothing: This build has a bra and panties, and animations to go with putting them on and taking them off. They're also color-customizable in the Creator. This is just a start, and there will be more clothing options soon.
- Background System: Added a backdrop that you can custom color in the Creator (under the Misc. tab). The color you set will be saved with your character if you save her after setting it. This is great for different lighting setups you might want to do.
- Color Picker: Trying out a new Color Picker type, which can see on the Background, Clothing, and Eyeliner sections. I'll be replacing the older color buttons on the rest of the Creator with this type as long as it works out well, so check it out and let me know if you have any troubles.
- Lighting System: Reworked the Lighting System so now you can choose from a couple of different lighting options (on the Creator) or (in VR) make your own to save with your character. In VR, just grab a light with the grip button, then move it where you want it. Click the Trigger while holding the light to alternate between changing color and turning it off. When you save your character the light settings will be saved with her.
- Lighting: Improved the lighting so now there's a spotlight instead of the old generic Directional light. It looks a lot better. The orb lights are also improved.
- Halloween Special: There's a special Halloween Bra and Panties set you can choose in the Clothing tab.
- Giant Mode! Yes, you can now make your characters GIANT. Check the Creator, under the Body/Extras tab. This mode works way better in VR, because in Desktop mode it's kind of hard to tell that they're giant. In VR, though, whoa. Pretty cool. :)
- Makeup: Added more makeup options to existing ones, plus added an Eyeliner section.
- Hair: I added a few new hair types, and improved the way hair moves.
- Breasts: Rewrote the dynamic breasts system to be more breasty. Still improving this area.
- Original Characters: There's a folder in the zip file that has a bunch of characters I made. If you want to use them you can copy them into your Characters folder, which is here:
"C:\Users\[YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME]\AppData\LocalLow\Ripened Peach Entertainment\RPVR_CakeMix\mods\chars\". - There's More: I'm sure I've forgotten something here. I added and changed a bunch of things.
- Tons of Bug Fixes - yup, there are always bugs, and yup, I'll always keep fixing them.
VR mode runs great on PC with a Quest 2 headset, and it's been tested to run on cards all the way down to a GTX 970. If you have other VR headsets, please let me know how it works.

interesting, that's the first I've heard of that. Looking into it. Are you using the VR or Desktop version? Is there a "RPVR_CakeMix.exe" file in the folder with the BAT files? (the extension ".exe" might not show, depending on how you have your system set up.)

just downloaded and tried to play. tried clicking on the bat files but it says there's no .exe

interesting, ok I'll try one of the body ones. When I do it to a breast one or some others it works fine. I'll check it out, though, thanks!

It looks like the larger number is reflected in the UI, but there's no visible change to the character's body. And when I switch tabs in the editor and go back, it clamps it back down to 100. For example if I go into a saved character and set THICC_01 to 500, she looks the same as at 100.

Hmmm, I just went in and tried setting some values to over 100 and the system did it. Maybe it's not working for some reason in the latest build(?) - What setting did you try to increase?

Thank you! That's a good suggestion, and honestly I thought it would do it if set in the save file, so I'll check that. Nice to see people playing around in the files. I come from a modding background and always love poking around in the data. Thanks for your thoughts. :)

This is really impressive, fantastic work. As a suggestion, it would be fun to be able to push sliders past 100%. I tried doing so by manually editing my save file, but the larger value was sadly ignored.
