Proof of Life #299: A trip down memory lane
🕑 Added 2025-12-08 23:09:56 +0000 UTCHello everynyan, how are you doing in this fine morning/afternoon/evening? It’s been two weeks since the last PoL, did you miss it? As always, I’m here with some more development news on Haylen’s brand new quest, and some more irl updates as well.
So, last week has been a mix of several things. I did take some time off at the beginning to take care of urgent irl stuff I’d put on hold to focus on finishing the game, then I took several days trying to come up with a proper scenario for Haylen’s last quest. Honestly, I thought it would go a lot faster than that since I already had a rough idea of the major plot points in mind, but trying to connect them proved a lot more difficult than expected. I still haven’t come up with 100% of the update, but my brain was about to overheat, so I decided start development already for a change of pace.
I’ve spent the end of the week working on the game, especially a relatively long flashback section going over Haylen’s past more in details, and I’m almost finished with it. Eventually, by the end of the update, I want to rework the church’s interior to better fit its changes… but more on that another day.
As for the irl stuff, some of you already know that I’m moving to Japan in about 3 weeks, so with Christmas on top of that, expect some delays with the new update. Leaving your country can prove really heavy on paperwork, and I have to run left and right to do all kind of stuff. Still, contrary to what I did last time I went to Japan where I took a whole month off, I won’t take any vacation this time, just work less on the days where I’m busy.

The timeline is kept purposefully vague, we just have references to some people's age. I didn't think it was that important to tell how long ago that happened.

A new portrait is indeed planned, although I'm still working out the details.
